Ratcheting OWC in Torque Converters

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2013
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper reviews ratcheting one way clutches (OWC). OWC represent a significant cost in a transmission. Optimizing the OWC type helps reduce cost and increase fuel efficiency, and is therefore worth studying. Although the ratcheting OWC design is the primary focus of this paper,

OWC wave power plants capture chamber modelling

OCEANS 2015 - MTS/IEEE Washington, 2015
The European Union is promoting the use of renewable energies as a path to fight global warming. Among them are diverse ocean energies and in particular, Oscillating Water Column (OWC)-based wave energy stands as one of the most promising technologies. An OWC device is basically composed by a capture chamber with a turbo-generator module attached to it.

OWC-based ocean wave energy plants

2021
This book discusses about the new techniques of power generation control of oscillating water column (OWC) using airflow control and maximum power point tracking of OWC using rotational speed control. OWCs harness energy from the oscillation of the seawater inside a chamber or hollow caused by the action of waves.

Lighting Extra Data via OWC Dimming

Proceedings of the Student Workshop, 2020
Most OWC systems use LEDs as transmitters and in poor channel conditions adopt or switch to the most robust On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation from complex high-order modulation schemes that are fragile with more error bits in poor optical environments.

Multi-Channel Transmission of Signal using Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) Channel : Channel Diversity Using OWC

2019 International Conference on Computing, Communication, and Intelligent Systems (ICCCIS), 2019
Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) channel is for inter-satellite communication. It is used as a subsystem of two telescopes or the wireless communication between two satellites. It is best suited for the modeling of satellite-satellite and earth-satellite links. The OWC channels are used for zero attenuation loss caused by atmospheric effects and no

Overall-efficiency optimisation in OWC devices

Applied Ocean Research, 2003
It is shown that due to power take-off losses, optimal control provides maximum energy absorption, but not maximum energy production. A new reactive control criterion in the frequency-domain is deduced assuming constant power take-off efficiency, respectively, in the power feeding and power absorption parts of the wave cycle.

Development of the Kvaerner Multiresonant OWC

1986
This work is a contribution to a research and development activity carried out at the Norwegian Hydrotechnical Laboratory on contract from and in close co-operation with Kvaerner Brug A/S. Our main contribution to the development of cost-effective wave energy converters has been the introduction of a socalled harbour in front of the absorber which ...

Hydrodynamic modeling of OWC and U-OWC wave energy converters using the SPH method

Oscillating Water Column devices (OWC) have been the object of many numerical studies, especially mesh-based ones. The peculiarity of these devices is their Power Take-off system, which often involves another phase (air) and requires special effort to be modeled properly.
