Fibrous osteodystrophy in a Lavradeira filly associated with Brachiaria humidicola ingestion

open access: yesAgro@mbiente On-line, 2019
Fibrous osteodystrophy in horses is due to low calcium ingestion, high phosphorus ingestion, high oxalate ingestion, or a combination of these. Tropical forages usually have high levels of oxalates, which prevents calcium absorption and results in ...

Metal‐CO2 Batteries: By‐Product Challenges and Practical Pathways for Low CO2 Concentration Environment

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metal‐CO2 batteries have recently emerged as an intriguing class of energy storage and conversion devices that simultaneously utilize and manage carbon dioxide. Originating from studies of CO2 contamination in metal‐air batteries, these systems have evolved into a distinct research direction, offering insights into CO2 electrochemistry and its

Thermal decomposition of mixed metal oxalates

open access: yes, 1993
The mixed metal oxalates, FeCu(ox)₂.3H₂0, CoCu(ox)₂.3H₂0, and NiCu(ox)₂.3.5H₂0, [ox = C₂0₄] have been prepared by coprecipitation from solution. The thermal behaviour of these compounds in nitrogen and in oxygen has been examined using thermogravimetry ...

Liquid‐phase oxidation of furfural catalyzed by magnetically separable metal oxide nanoparticles deposited on silica gel

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Oxidation of furfural (FF), a bio‐based platform chemical, was investigated using a range of iron‐, vanadium‐ and iron–zinc‐oxalates supported on silica gel (FeVOx@silica and FeZnOx@silica, respectively) as precursor for FeV@silica and FeZn@silica oxide catalysts and H2O2 as a green oxidant.

From dioxime oxalates to dihydropyrroles and phenanthridines via iminyl radicals.

open access: yes, 2008
Dioxime oxalates are useful precursors for the clean generation of iminyl radicals by sensitised UV photolysis and can be adapted for serviceable preparations of 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrroles and ...

syn-Selective alkylarylation of terminal alkynes via the combination of photoredox and nickel catalysis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Converting alkynes into alkenes with high stereoselectivity via two consecutive C-C bond forming steps is a desirable process, yet very challenging. Here, the authors describe a dual photoredox-nickel catalytic system for the regio- and syn-selective ...

Dioxime oxalates; new iminyl radical precursors for syntheses of N-heterocycles

open access: yes, 2008
Symmetrical and unsymmetrical dioxime oxalates were prepared by treatment of oximes with oxalyl chloride. UV photolysis of these precursors was found to be an atom-efficient way of generating iminyl radicals.

Decoding RNA regulation: Challenges and opportunities for RNA‐based therapies in Europe

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract RNA‐based medicinal products represent a promising frontier in personalised medicine, offering sequence‐specific disease targeting at various molecular levels, yet their clinical translation in the European Union (EU) may be hindered by regulatory uncertainty around definitions and evidence requirements; this study therefore aims to identify ...
