Conductivometric determination of urinary oxalate with oxalate decarboxylase

Urological Research, 1982
An enzymatic method for determination of urinary oxalate is described: the acidified urine samples are extracted with chloroform. This manipulation improves the blank values considerably. 1 ml of extracted urine is incubated with oxalate decarboxylase. The CO2 released from the medium is absorbed by Sr(OH)2.

Oxalate binding proteins in calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis

Urological Research, 2003
The existence of several oxalate specific binding proteins have been demonstrated in human and rat kidney. These occur in both cortical and medullary cells and are distributed mostly in the subcellular organelles. About 1/3 of the total cellular oxalate binding was localised in the inner mitochondrial membrane while the rest was in the nucleus.

[Analysis of oxalic acid and oxalates].

Zeitschrift fur Urologie und Nephrologie, 1980
It is reported on individual methods for the estimation of the oxalic acid in body fluids, particularly in the urine. The case in question is a survey of the oxalate estimation methods, which, however, has no pretensions to completeness. The at present most actualestimation methods are brought somewhat more in detail.

[Oxalate as a promoter in calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis].

Hinyokika kiyo. Acta urologica Japonica, 1992
Oxalate transports on membranes of red blood cell, intestinal epithelium and proximal tubule cell were reviewed, and the new findings about oxalate transport across these membranes are reported. Red blood cell oxalate influx rate in a group of recurrent calcium oxalate stone formers was significantly higher than that of a control group.
