Selective Electrolysis of Water Under Artificial Seawater Conditions Using Transition Metal Borate Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The borate‐based cobalt‐iron catalyst promotes selective oxidation of water rather than chlorine evolution reaction during electrolysis of seawater. When integrated into a zero‐gap electrolyzer prototype, this catalyst supports robust splitting of artificial seawater into oxygen and hydrogen on an extended timescale.

Spectrophotometric determination of trace oxalic acid with zirconium(IV)-dibromochloroarsenazo complex

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2007
Based on the property that oxalic acid has the effect on the replacement of dibromochloroarsenazo in zirconium(IV)-dibromochloroarsenazo complex to produce hyperchromic effects in 1.26 M hydrochloric acid medium, a novel method for the determination of ...

Supramolecularly Directed Confined Crystallization of Lamellar Carbon Nitride for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainable hydrogen generation through water splitting is key to realizing a future hydrogen economy. In this study, we achieved molecular‐level control over self‐assembled supramolecular complexes of cyanuric acid and 3‐amino 1,2,4 triazole (AT) monomers. This was coupled with molten‐salt‐assisted thermal polymerization in a eutectic mixture

Enhanced nitrogen availability in karst ecosystems by oxalic acid release in the rhizosphere

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
In karst ecosystems, a high level of CaCO3 enhances the stabilization of soil organic matter (SOM) and causes nitrogen (N) and/or phosphorus (P) limitation in plants.

Rumex induratus leaves: phytochemical profiling and antioxidant activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Several species of the Rumex (Polygonaceae) genus have been used in traditional medicine, although their high oxalic acid content has been implicated in oxalic intoxication, mainly la children.

Research on the Detoxification of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash: Organic Acid Washing Pretreatment Coupled With Cement/DDTC Stabilization

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heavy metals in municipal waste incineration fly ash are potentially harmful to the ecological environment and human health. To mitigate the hazards of fly ash, this study attempts to detoxify fly ash through organic acid washing pretreatment coupled with cement/sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) solidification.

Role of reductant for generation of solar energy in photogalvanic cell

open access: yesBibechana, 2010
The Photo voltages and photocurrents in photo galvanic cell containing a dye Rose Bengal and Oxalic Acid as reducing agent have been determined. The photo-outputs with Oxalic Acid are higher than Rose Bengal and Mannitol system.

The electron density distribution in the hydrogen bond. A quantum chemical and crystallographic study [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
With the help of Hartree—Fock—Slater calculations in which very large basis sets are employed, the polarisation of the water molecule by an electric field is explored. The various features in the electron density distribution are encountered again in the

Mechanistic Insights Into Cellulose Dissolution in Solvents for Advanced Industrial Applications: A Systematic and Bibliometric Review

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cellulose dissolution is important for various industries, including textiles, bioplastics, foods and pharmaceuticals, yet achieving efficient dissolution remains challenging. Deep eutectic solvents (DES) have emerged as promising alternatives to traditional solvents due to their low toxicity, biodegradability and sustainability.
