PHOTOCHEMICAL OXIDANTS IN THE TROPOSPHERE ABOVE ZAGREB

open access: yesHrvatski meteorološki časopis, 1996
The behaviour of photo oxidants in the troposphere above the city of Zagreb was investigated on the basis of ozone measurements over many years and periodical measurements of nitrogen oxides, 7Be and meteorological parameters. At the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) site a pronounced influence of the town was found.

Mechanistic Diversity in Photoexcited Radical Redox Chemistry: A Critical Evaluation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Many high‐profile examples of photoredox catalysis are proposed to proceed via excitation of an open‐shell intermediate form of the catalyst. However, there is much debate over whether such mechanisms are realistic and, if so, exactly how they can occur.

Environmental and economic evaluation of Egyptian cement production using refuse-derived fuel from municipal solid waste

open access: yesScientific Reports
Egypt’s cement sector is a major environmental polluter, yet life cycle-based environmental assessments of this industry remain scarce in the country, highlighting a critical research gap that this study addresses.

Uncaging Iridium(III) Complexes for Combined Photodynamic and Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Light‐activatable iridium(III) anticancer prodrugs demonstrate how chalcogen coordination controls photoinduced therapeutic activity. Upon visible‐light irradiation, sulfur‐ and selenium‐based caging ligands undergo distinct oxygen‐dependent photoreactions that trigger ligand release and singlet oxygen generation, enabling combined photoactivated ...

Degradation Mechanisms, Encapsulation‐Based Stabilization, and Analytical Detection of Vitamin A

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vitamin A is an important lipid‐soluble micronutrient essential for vision, immune function, and overall growth and development. However, vitamin A is unstable and susceptible to environmental factors because of its conjugated structure and inherent chemical reactivity.

First‐Principles Study of Structural, Mechanical, Electronic, Thermodynamical, and Optical Properties of XGaO2 (X = Rb and Cs): Unlocking Its Green Energy Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study employs density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the structural, mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermodynamic properties of RbGaO2 and CsGaO2. The calculated band structures and band‐edge positions indicate semiconducting behavior and favorable alignment for photocatalytic dye degradation and hydrogen evolution, highlighting ...
