Building Blocks for Acetylenic Scaffolding Inspired by 6,6,12‐Graphyne

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
6,6,12‐Graphyne is an elusive allotrope of carbon. Here, we present the synthesis and properties of a selection of useful molecular building blocks to advance the preparation of various segments of 6,6,12‐graphyne. These modules are derived from tri‐ and tetraethynylethene derivatives, di‐ and tetraethynyl‐substituted tolane derivatives, as well as ...

Iron‐Photocatalyzed Ligand‐to‐Metal Charge Transfer‐Driven Decarboxylative Giese‐Type Reactions Under Mild Conditions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Iron‐photocatalyzed LMCT enables decarboxylative hydroalkylation of Michael acceptors (Giese‐type reaction) under mild conditions. Using tailored ligands and a sterically hindered very mild aniline base, diverse carboxylic acids efficiently couple with sensitive Michael acceptors, including maleimides.

Sustainable Iron Catalysis for Chemodivergent Oxidation of Lignin‐Based Vanillyl Alcohol: Selective Access to Vanillin and Vanillic Acid

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Green reaction media enable chemodivergent oxidation of vanillyl alcohol, selectively affording vanillin or its fully oxidized counterpart, vanillic acid. The use of an earth‐abundant, inexpensive, and nontoxic iron catalyst for the transformation of lignin‐derived alcohol to fine chemicals underscores the sustainability of the process. A low E‐factor (

Expanding the Scope of 1,2‐Diazepines Through Alternative Activation Strategies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Often overlooked due to tedious synthetic routes, 1,2‐diazepines can be found in handful of biorelevant molecules. Previous reports from our group lifted the principal synthetic lock: a rapid and user‐friendly protocol to reach monocyclic 1,2‐diazepines from readily available pyridines and electrophilic activating groups. Herein, we extend the scope of

Mechanical stability in flexible perovskite solar cells: Interface engineering and device design

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Statistics of the improvement methods for f‐PSCs. Abstract Flexible perovskite solar cells (f‐PSCs) demonstrate significant potential for application in next‐generation wearable electronic devices and photovoltaic building integration due to their high power conversion efficiency and excellent power‐to‐weight ratio. However, the inherent brittleness of
