Photochemical Oxidants and Hydrocarbons

open access: yesJournal of the Fuel Society of Japan, 1978
Photochemical oxidants are formed by the sunlight irradiationon the air containing precusors nitrogen oxides (NOχ) and reactive hydrocarbons (HC). The effect of precursor concentrations on the rate and maximum concentrationof oxidant formation has been elucidated by smog-chamber experiments. The reactivity of HC is an important factor for the formation ...

Tomographic Printing in a Chip: A Versatile Platform for Biomimetic 3D Organ‐on‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel light‐based bioprinting approach, TVAM‐in‐a‐chip, enables rapid, contactless fabrication of biomimetic 3D organ‐on‐chip devices directly within preassembled microfluidic platforms. This strategy supports diverse materials, including cell‐laden resins, and eliminates post‐assembly steps.

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Smog injury, root diseases and bark beetle damage in ponderosa pine

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1969
Photochemical oxidants (smog) are causing serious injury to ponderosa pine in the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California. Apparently, smog injury also renders the trees more susceptible to attack by two species of destructive forest insects, the

Physical and chemical parameters impact on eosin spectral determinations

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2010
The fluorescence ability of Eosin enables its using as an artificial tracer in the water system studies. The problem deals with the application of Eosin to trace and determine water movements within the karstic system and under ground waters.

Dynamic changes in optical and chemical properties of tar ball aerosols by atmospheric photochemical aging [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
Following wood pyrolysis, tar ball aerosols were laboratory generated from wood tar separated into polar and nonpolar phases. Chemical information of fresh tar balls was obtained from a high-resolution time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometer (HR-ToF-AMS)

Decoupling Activation and Preservation: Architectural Design Principles of Organic Frameworks for Selective Photocatalytic Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Selective methane (CH4) photooxidation emerges from architectural decoupling of activation and preservation. Programmable organic semiconductor frameworks spatially organize oxidative flux and intermediate residence, separating reaction zones from product domains to synchronize activation strength with stabilization and establish a selective oxidation ...
