Oxidation energies of transition metal oxides within the GGA+U framework

, 2006
The energy of a large number of oxidation reactions of 3d transition metal oxides is computed using the generalized gradient approach GGA and GGA+U methods. Two substantial contributions to the error in GGA oxidation energies are identified.

The decomposition of nitrous oxide on neodymium oxide, dysprosium oxide and erbium oxide

Journal of Catalysis, 1973
Abstract The decomposition of nitrous oxide on neodymium oxide, dysprosium oxide and erbium oxide has been studied in two pressure ranges of approximately 1 to 10 Torr and 10 to 100 Torr, over a temperature range of 400 to 600 °C. In all cases, the kinetics are first-order in nitrous oxide with a pseudo-rate constant varying with initial pressure ...

OXIDATION

2007
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the effect of oxidation on metals and alloys. Oxidation is an environmental phenomenon in which metals and alloys exposed to oxygen or oxygen-containing gases at elevated temperatures convert some or all of the metallic elements into their oxides.
