Evidence for a new aluminum oxidation state

Physical Review B, 1993
We present experimental evidence of a previously unknown aluminum oxidation state due to chemisorbed atomic oxygen. This new oxidation state has been detected at room temperature on the chemically shifted Al 2p core level by photoemission spectroscopy.

Changes of Oxidation State and Spin State

1973
In Chapter 8 we discussed changes in the spin state of ferrous iron with pressure. In Chapter 9 we treated the reduction of ferric to ferrous iron. We now discuss two types of systems where both processes are occurring. We again use Mossbauer resonance to identify the states present.

The +? oxidation state of mercury

Journal of the Chemical Society D: Chemical Communications, 1971
The new compound Hg62+(AsF6–)2 containing mercury in the previously unknown oxidation state of +⅓ has been obtained by the reaction of mercury with arsenic pentafluoride in liquid SO2.

Oxidation-state speciation of

Analytical chemistry
The analytical utility of chemically modified microelectrodes for oxidation-state speciation of redox couples by cyclic voltammetry has been explored. [Re(I)(DMPE)3]+/[Re(II)(DMPE)3]2+, where DMPE = 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane, was studied at carbon-fiber microelectrodes of approximately 5 microm in radius coated with Nafion-entrapped solgel ...

Orbitals to oxidation state

1995
This chapter examines atomic orbitals. An atomic orbital is the wavefunction of an electron in an atom; its square gives the probability of finding the electron at that point. The Schrödinger solution defines the wave equation for the electron in the hydrogen atom as a product of a radial and angular part.
