Oxidative desulfurization of hydrocarbon feedstock

Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2008
The optimum conditions for oxidative desulfurization of hydrocarbon feedstock in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts based on transition metal oxides were found. The effect of the ratio of oxides in them on the activity of the catalytic systems was demonstrated.

Oxidative Desulfurization Using Polyoxometalates

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2006
Oxidative desulfurization of model compounds (benzothiophene, dibenzothiophene, 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene) with hydrogen peroxide/acetic acid using polyoxometalates as catalysts has been studied. The tetrabutylammonium salts of [W6O19]2-, [V(VW11)O40]4-, [PVW11O40]4-, and [PV2Mo10O40]4- were prepared, and their activities were compared with (VO ...

Superoxides: Alternative Oxidants for the Oxidative Desulfurization Process

Energy & Fuels, 2008
Superoxides, for instance, potassium superoxide, have been demonstrated as alternative oxidants for the oxidative desulfurization process. For model compounds of benzothiophene, dibenzothiophene, and a number of selected diesel oil samples, sulfur removal greater than 90% and as high as 99% was accomplished.

Rare-Earth Oxide Desulfurizers

2017
The IGCC coarse gas derived from coal gasification process usually contains large amounts of sulfur containing components, such as H2S, COS, and CS2, 90% of them are H2S (~0.1 to 1.5 vol.%) which could cause severe corrosion of the pipelines, facilities, and catalysts in the subsequent coal gas conversion process; thus, the sulfur compounds need to be ...
