Chemical activation of the oxide-coated cathode
1955 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1955Radioactive tracer technique applied to studies of the chemical activation of oxide cathodes show that the process is controlled by diffusion of reducing agents in the base nickel. A correlation will be demonstrated between the rate of reduction of the oxide coating and the pulse emission from the cathodes.
