Bark morphological and chemical features are differentially correlated with disease resistance and yield in hybrid poplar taxa

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 15, Issue 9, Page 1140-1153, September 2023., 2023
Bark % and disease trees among and between the genotypes of four hybrid poplar taxa. After two growing seasons, only P. deltoides × P. deltoides (DD) genotypes showed disease resistance (no disease detected) and developed thicker bark that was chemically distinct from the other genotypes. All the other genotypes, show incidence of disease.

Exposures to pesticides and risk of cancer: Evaluation of recent epidemiological evidence in humans and paths forward

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 152, Issue 5, Page 879-912, 1 March 2023., 2023
Abstract Knowledge of the role in cancer etiology of environmental exposures as pesticides is a prerequisite for primary prevention. We review 63 epidemiological studies on exposure to pesticides and cancer risk in humans published from 2017 to 2021, with emphasis on new findings, methodological approaches, and gaps in the existing literature.

Effect of Pesticides on Peroxisome Proliferator‐Activated Receptors (PPARs) and Their Association with Obesity and Diabetes

open access: yesPPAR Research, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Obesity and diabetes mellitus are considered the most important diseases of the XXI century. Recently, many epidemiological studies have linked exposure to pesticides to the development of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The role of pesticides and their possible influence on the development of these diseases was investigated by examining the ...

Assessment of oxyfluorfen‐tolerant rice systems and implications for rice‐weed management in California1

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 78, Issue 11, Page 4905-4912, November 2022., 2022
Oxyfluorfen‐tolerant rice systems were demonstrated to be a viable option for managing problematic weeds including Oryza sativa spontanea in California rice cropping systems. Abstract BACKGROUND Weeds are a significant barrier to rice production in California, exacerbated by lack of chemical control options and herbicide‐resistance in persistent ...

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and the Need for a Meaningful Regulatory Plant Protection Product Testing Strategy

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, Volume 41, Issue 8, Page 1808-1823, August 2022., 2022
Abstract Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) perform key soil ecosystem services and, because of their symbiotic relationship with plant roots, may be exposed to the plant protection products (PPPs) applied to soils and crops. In 2017, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) released a scientific opinion addressing the state of the science on risk ...

Weed Control and Tigernut Response to Preemergence Herbicides Applied at Transplanting

open access: yesHortTechnology, 2021
Tigernut (Cyperus esculentus var. sativus) is a type of sedge that is quickly becoming popular as a superfood. As demand for tigernut continues to increase, more information is needed to develop weed management strategies for the crop to maximize tuber ...

Determination of Oxyfluorfen Herbicide and Oxyfluorfen Amine Residues in Garbanzo Beans by Liquid Chromatography

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1991
Abstract Oxyfluorfen and oxyfluorfen amine were determined by liquid chromatography (LC) with ultraviolet (UV) and photoconductivity detection (PCD). A simple extraction procedure acceptably recovered both analytes from garbanzo beans over a wide range of fortifications (0.05 to 20 ppm) (83 ± 4 for oxyfluorfen; 85 ± 4 for oxyfluorfen ...

Eficácia do herbicida oxyfluorfen com a cobertura de palha no controle de plantas daninhas Efficacy of oxyfluorfen with straw cover in controlling weeds

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2009

Aplicações isoladas ou associadas de diuron, oxyfluorfen e prometryne para o controle de Euphorbia heterophylla Isolated or combined application of diuron, oxyfluorfen and prometryn for Euphorbia heterophylla control

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2011
