PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Autoxidation of lipids in parchment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Historic parchment is a macromolecular material, which is complex due to its natural origin, inhomogeneity of the skin structure, unknown environmental history and potential localised degradation.

Oxygen-vacancy driven electron localization and itinerancy in rutile-based TiO$_2$

open access: yes, 2017
Oxygen-deficient TiO$_2$ in the rutile structure as well as the Ti$_3$O$_5$ Magn{\'e}li phase is investigated within the charge self-consistent combination of density functional theory (DFT) with dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT).

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Influence of Aeration on the Composition of Biocenosis and Efficiency of Removal of Nitrogen-Containing Compounds on Rapid Filters for Drinking Water Treatment

open access: yesНаукові вісті Національного технічного університету України "Київський політехнічний інститут", 2018
Background. Nitrogen compounds are the most common components of groundwater in Ukraine. Nitrates for humans are not poisonous, but in the human body, they turn into nitrites, affecting the health of the whole organism. One of the possible ways to reduce

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Vinyl Polymerization by Organoboron Compounds.-Cocatalytic Action of Oxygen and Oxygen Compounds

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1958

Electronic correlations and crystal structure distortions in BaBiO3

open access: yes, 2012
BaBiO3 is a material where formally Bi4+ ions with the half-filled 6s-states form the alternating set of Bi3+ and Bi5+ ions resulting in a charge ordered insulator.

Redox regulation meets metabolism: targeting PRDX2 to prevent hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PRDX2 acts as a central redox hub linking metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH) to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In normal hepatocytes, PRDX2 maintains redox balance and metabolic homeostasis under oxidative stress. In contrast, during malignant transformation, PRDX2 promotes oncogenic signaling, stemness, and tumor initiation ...
