Aeration, Filtration and Disinfection in Mariculture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Among various water quality parameters for a successful aquaculture practice, Dissolved oxygen content in the water is one of the most important parameters, as the oxygen is a vital for all the organisms living in the water and having an aerobic type ...

Anion-channel blockade with alinidine: a specific bradycardic drug for coronary heart disease without negative inotropic activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
In 14 patients undergoing cardiac catheterization for suspected coronary artery disease, alinidine, 0.6 mg/kg, was administered intravenously to determine its effects on left ventricular (LV) function, coronary blood flow and myocardial oxygen ...

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Aquatic respiration rate measurements at low oxygen concentrations.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Despite its huge ecological importance, microbial oxygen respiration in pelagic waters is little studied, primarily due to methodological difficulties.

Ballroom dancing is more intensive for the female partners due to their unique hold technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this study, we tested the hypotheses that, relative to the maximum capacities, ballroom dancing is more intensive for females than males, and that the hold technique (female vs. male) regulates dancing intensity.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Acute Fatigue Impairs Heart Rate Variability and Resting Muscle Oxygen Consumption Kinetics

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study evaluated the influence of acute fatigue on heart rate variability (HRV) and muscle oxygen saturation (SmO2) at rest, as well as the reliability of SmO2 data measured using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) during a vascular occlusion test ...

Alteration in oxygen consumption of fresh water fish Puntius stigma exposed to sublethal concentrations of insecticide Phytofos

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2012
Now a days large number of new insecticide formulations are used to protect the crops from various insects. Water pollution caused by insecticide is a serious problem it affects the aquatic animals adversely.

Influence of Sample Preparation and Processing Procedures on the Thermal Diffusivity of MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.
