Assessment of low-temperature oxidation characteristics of coal based on standard oxygen consumption rate

, 2020
To investigate the low-temperature oxidation characteristics of coal, programmed heating and oxidation experiments were conducted on single-particle-size coal samples from different mines.

Thrombin stimulation of platelet oxygen consumption rate

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1964
Oxygen consumption of human platelets was measured by O2 cathode. Platelets were prepared by collecting blood into ACD solution, and isolation and washing in buffer by centrifugation. O2 consumption was measured by vibrating cathode at 25 C in Hank's solution.

Heart Rate and Rate of Oxygen Consumption of Exercising Macaroni Penguins

Journal of Experimental Biology, 2001
ABSTRACT Summary Twenty-four macaroni penguins (Eudyptes chrysolophus) from three groups, breeding males (N=9), breeding females (N=9) and moulting females (N=6), were exercised on a variable-speed treadmill. Heart rate (fH) and mass-specific rate of oxygen consumption were recorded from the animals, and both fH and were found to ...

Oxygen consumption by a bituminous coal: Time dependence of the rate of oxygen consumption

Combustion Science and Technology, 2002
Oxygen consumption of a bituminous coal was examined using the isothermal flow reactor technique. The experiments were undertaken at atmospheric pressure and at temperatures between 333 and 363 K. The gaseous oxidizing medium contained oxygen at concentrations of 10.9%, 20.9% and 39.9%.

Relationship between polyphenolic content, antioxidant properties and oxygen consumption rate of different tannins in a model wine solution.

Food Chemistry, 2019
The polyphenolic content and the antioxidant capacity of seven tannins with different botanical origin were measured with spectrophotometric methods (Folin-Ciocalteu, Total Polyphenols Index, DPPH, FRAP), HPLC (phloroglucinolysis), voltammetric analysis (

Chemical characterization, antioxidant properties and oxygen consumption rate of 36 commercial oenological tannins in a model wine solution.

Food Chemistry, 2018
The chemical composition (CC), antioxidant capacity (AC) and oxygen consumption rate (OCR) of 36 different commercial tannins were measured. The CC was analyzed by total polyphenol index, Bate-Smith, methyl-cellulose, Folin-Ciocalteu, OIV official method

Effect of the rate of oxygen consumption on muscle respiration

Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1977
An important role of myoglobin in red muscle is to facilitate the diffusion of oxygen for metabolism. We consider a model for muscle respiration in which the oxygen consumption is of a Michaelis-Menten form. The resulting mathematical model is solved in two different ways with two different boundary conditions.

The oxygen consumption rates of three gastrotrichs

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1984
Abstract 1. 1. The oxygen consumption rates for three sympatric species of marine gastrotrichs (anatomically similar, except that one contains hemoglobin) were measured with a Cartesian diver microrespirometer. 2. 2. The rates for the two species without hemoglobin, Turbanella ocellata and Dolichodasys carolinensis , were 307.2 μl O 2 g ...

Oxygen consumption rate in rotifers

Hydrobiologia, 1995
The oxygen consumption rate (OCR) is a cumulative index of metabolic losses during aerobic metabolism. The generalized relationship of oxygen consumption rate (R, nl O2 ind-1 h-1) and dry body mass (M, μg) for rotifers is described by the equation: R = 9.15M0.716.
