TRPML1 agonist ML‐SA5 attenuates pulmonary fibroblast activation by suppressing mTOR and restoring autophagic flux

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TGF‐β1 stimulation downregulates lysosomal channel TRPML1 in pulmonary fibroblasts. The TRPML1 agonist ML‐SA5 suppressed fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast activation and collagen production. Mechanistically, ML‐SA5 inhibited mTOR phosphorylation, restored autophagic flux, and its effects were enhanced by rapamycin (mTOR inhibitor) and reversed by MHY1485 ...

NixWO2.72 nanorods as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction

open access: yes, 2017
NixWO2.72 nanorods (NRs) are synthesized by a one-pot reaction of Ni(acac)2 and WCl4. In the rod structure, Ni(II) intercalates in the defective perovskite-type WO2.72 and is stabilized.

Characterization of the key membrane protein cytochrome Cyc2 from Ghiorsea bivora

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the first detailed biochemical analysis of Cyc2TAG1_1, a cytochrome protein involved in microbial iron oxidation. We produced and purified this enzyme in E. coli, then measured its iron‐oxidizing efficiency, and characterized its electrical and structural properties.

Highly efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction

open access: yes, 2007
Highly efficient and chemically compatible Ln(x)Sr(1-x)CoO(3-delta) ( Ln = La, Sm, Gd,.)/Co3O4 electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction are presented and the very low cathode polarization resistances and excellent performances implied their ...

Fluorination: A strategy to tune the interactions of molecules and nanoscale systems with biological matter

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This minireview explores fluorination as a key strategy to optimize therapeutic molecules and nanocarriers. By incorporating different fluorinated motifs—from single atoms to linear and branched chains—drug delivery, cellular uptake, and colloidal stability can be improved and fine‐tuned.
