Nitrogen Loss and Oxygen Evolution Reaction Activity of Perovskite Oxynitrides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Perovskite oxynitride photocatalysts were reported by experiment to evolve small amounts of N2, because of the self-oxidation of nitrogen ions by photogenerated holes.

Lattice oxygen evolution in rutile Ru(1−x)Ni(x)O2 electrocatalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Efficient predictive tools for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity assessment are vital for rational design of anodes for green hydrogen production. Reaction mechanism prediction represents an important pre-requisite for such catalyst design.

Experience With Performing Rheocarna Therapy via the Single‐Needle Method for Treatment of Chronic Limb‐Threatening Ischemia

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This study investigated the safety and efficacy of single‐needle Rheocarna therapy for chronic limb‐threatening ischemia (CLTI) with wounds. Methods Six patients with CLTI involving ulcers unresponsive to revascularization underwent single‐needle Rheocarna treatment.

Spin-Selective Oxygen Evolution Reaction in Chiral Iron Oxide Nanoparticles: Synergistic Impact of Inherent Magnetic Moment and Chirality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Electron spin polarization is identified as a promising avenue for enhancing the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), the bottleneck that limits the energy efficiency of water-splitting. Here, we report that both ferrimagnetic (f-Fe3O4) and superparamagnetic

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Nanotubular Titanium Oxynitride with an Ultra-Low Iridium Loading as a High-Performance Oxygen-Evolution-Reaction Thin-Film Electrode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The present study targets one of the grand challenges of electrochemical hydrogen production: a durable and cost-effective oxygen-evolution catalyst. We present a thin-film composite electrode with a unique morphology and an ultra-low loading of iridium ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Oxygen vacancy-mediated high-entropy oxide electrocatalysts for efficient oxygen evolution reaction

open access: yesMaterials Today Catalysis
Transition metal oxides hold great potential for water splitting due to their tunable electronic structures and abundant availability. However, their inherently poor electrical conductivity and limited catalytic activity hinder their practical ...

Missing-linker metal-organic frameworks for oxygen evolution reaction

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
While water splitting electrocatalysis provides a means to store electrical energy as fuel, the water oxidation catalysts typically show low performances.

Dynamic Promotion of the Oxygen Evolution Reaction via Programmable Metal Oxides [PDF]

open access: yes
Hydrogen gas is a promising renewable energy storage medium when produced via water electrolysis, but this process is limited by the sluggish kinetics of the anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER).
