Electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) on mixed nanoporous RuIr borides
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2021Efficient water splitting for commercial electrolysis devices is predicated on the development of materials, specifically for the catalytic electrodes, that exhibit an optimal balance between activity and stability. Complicating the development of electrocatalytic materials, particularly for oxygen-evolving anodes in acidic polymer electrolyte membrane

Amorphous and crystalline IrO2 catalysts are synthesized by the Adams method and characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is investigated on both the catalyst surfaces in 0.5 M H2SO4 electrolyte.

Evaluating the Effect of Oxygen Vacancies on the Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) Activity of LaNiO 3
LangmuirIn this work, we have investigated the effect of oxygen vacancies on the surface composition, electronic structure, and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance of LaNiO3. The results show that the OER performance of LaNiO3 can be improved both by decreasing the oxygen partial pressure during film growth and annealing the thin film in a H2 ...

The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) play pivotal roles in energy devices such as electrochemical water splitting, rechargeable zinc–air batteries, and fuel cells. However, the slow kinetics lead to a large overpotential being required for these three reactions because they all ...

Abstract Based on the oxygen evolving μ-oxido-Mn4Ca cluster unit in photosynthesis II, Ca2Mn3O8 films prepared by dip-coating and screen-printing were tested as oxygen evolving catalysts. Structural analysis confirmed that smooth 100 nm films can be grown from a Ca2MnO4 sol–gel solution showing a high orientation in (1 0 0) direction when deposited ...
