An oxygen partial pressure warning instrument

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards, Section C: Engineering and Instrumentation, 1963
An instrument has been developed to monitor partial pressure of oxygen in the respiratory air supply to an aviator. The requirements for the application are small size, light weight, capability for measuring oxygen partial pressure with an accuracy of ...

Plateau Waves of Intracranial Pressure and Partial Pressure of Cerebral Oxygen

2016
This study investigates 55 intracranial pressure (ICP) plateau waves recorded in 20 patients after severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) with a focus on a moving correlation coefficient between mean arterial pressure (ABP) and ICP, called PRx, which serves as a marker of cerebrovascular reactivity, and a moving correlation coefficient between ABP and ...

An oxygen partial pressure sensor

Medical Electronics & Biological Engineering, 1963
The oxygen partial pressure of the gas mixture man breathes is an important measurement. A sensor is described which makes use of the reaction of oxygen with hydrogen in the presence of catalytic platinum to produce water and electrical energy. The voltage output is a direct function of the oxygen partial pressure.

Prediction of arterial partial pressure of oxygen with pulse oxygen saturation measurements

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1998
We studied 22 neonates with gestational ages from 26 to 40 weeks to determine how accurately pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) could predict arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) and how much time and effort would be required to achieve and maintain a desired SpO2 value.SpO2 was maintained at 90%, 92%, 94%, 96%, and 98% by adjustment of FiO2.

Transcutaneous partial pressure of oxygen after surgical wounds

Vascular Medicine, 2004
Transcutaneous partial pressure of oxygen (TcPO2) predicts wound healing in critical ischemia. However, no studies have controlled for the effect of wounds on TcPO2. In this study, in 24 hip or knee arthroplasty cases without vascular disease, TcPO2 was measured preoperatively at the incision site, contralaterally, and at a reference site on the chest

Arterial-alveolar oxygen partial pressure ratio

Critical Care Medicine, 1986
The relationship between the arterial-alveolar oxygen partial pressure ratio (PaO2/PAO2) and different fractions of inspired oxygen (FIO2) was studied using a bicompartmental computer model. PaO2/PAO2 was found to be less stable than in previous clinical works probably because the venous admixture varied with changes in the FIO2.

Skeletal muscle partial pressure of oxygen in patients with sepsis

Critical Care Medicine, 1994
In order to obtain direct evidence for tissue hypoxia in patients with sepsis oxygen, partial pressure was measured within skeletal muscle. Furthermore, serial intermittent and continuous measurements of skeletal muscle PO2 in patients with sepsis were used to find out whether skeletal muscle oxygenation may change in the course of sepsis and depends ...
