Hyperoxia reversibly alters oxygen consumption and metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Aim: Ventilation with pure oxygen (hyperoxic ventilation: HV) is thought to decrease whole body oxygen consumption (VO(2)). However, the validity and impact of this phenomenon remain ambiguous; until now, under hyperoxic conditions, VO(2) has only been ...

Effect of Oxygen Mole Fraction on Static Properties of Pressure-Sensitive Paint

open access: yesSensors, 2021
The effects of the oxygen mole fraction on the static properties of pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) were investigated. Sample coupon tests using a calibration chamber were conducted for poly(hexafluoroisopropyl methacrylate)-based PSP (PHFIPM-PSP ...

Influence of oxygen partial pressure on the microstructural and magnetic properties of Er-doped ZnO thin films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
Er-doped ZnO thin films have been prepared by using inductively coupled plasma enhanced physical vapor deposition at different O2:Ar gas flow ratio (R = 0:30, 1:30, 1:15, 1:10 and 1:6).

Mathematical Modelling of Intraretinal Oxygen Partial Pressure

open access: yes, 2008
Purpose: The aim of our present work is to develop a simple steady state model for intraretinal oxygen partial pressure distribution and to investigate the effect of various model parameters on the partial pressure distribution under adapted conditions ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
