Influence of an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere on Diamond‐Single‐Grain Scratching of Ti–6Al–4V
Single‐grain scratching of Ti–6Al–4V is investigated under controlled, oxygen‐free, and ambient atmospheres using a novel experimental setup with in situ high‐speed imaging. The approach enables direct observation of chip formation and adhesion under suppressed oxidation.

This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Evolutions of geometry and electronic state introduced by oxygen vacancy for CaMnO3 compound
The cell structures, locally micro-structures, combinations, electronic states as well as carrier transports induced by Oxygen vacancy for the CaMnO3 compound have been systematically investigated by pseudo-potential plane wave functions within the ...

Ab initio free energy of vacancy formation and mass-action kinetics in vis-active TiO2 [PDF]
Recent reports have identified bulk defects such as oxygen vacancies as key players in visible-light photoactive TiO2. This would imply greater visible light absorption rates may be possible provided effective defect engineering can be achieved.

Hubbard band or oxygen vacancy states in the correlated electron metal SrVO$_3$?
We study the effect of oxygen vacancies on the electronic structure of the model strongly correlated metal SrVO$_3$. By means of angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) synchrotron experiments, we investigate the systematic effect of the UV dose on the ...

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Oxygen Vacancy Linear Clustering in a Perovskite Oxide
Oxygen vacancies have been implicitly assumed isolated ones, and understanding oxide materials possibly containing oxygen vacancies remains elusive within the scheme of the isolated vacancies, although the oxygen vacancies have been playing a decisive role in oxide materials.

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Oxygen Vacancy in ZnO-$w$ Phase: Pseudohybrid Hubbard Density Functional Study
The study of zinc oxide, within the homogeneous electron gas approximation, results in overhybridization of zinc $3d$ shell with oxygen $2p$ shell, a problem shown for most transition metal chalcogenides.
