Tension controlled hollow-fiber winding machine for blood oxygenator prototypes

open access: yesHardwareX, 2023
Blood oxygenators involve a complex network of hollow fibers for efficient gas exchange with blood. The optimal microstructural arrangement of these fibers is an ongoing research interest.

Influence of Battery Electrode Chemistry on Electrolyte Decomposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The formation of a stable solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI) is crucial for rechargeable batteries. This study reveals how carbonaceous (glassy carbon), semiconducting (silicon), and metallic (copper) electrode materials influence SEI nucleation and electrolyte decomposition.

Development of ZnO Buffer Layers for As‐Doped CdSeTe/CdTe Solar Cells with Efficiency Exceeding 20%

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Highly resistive ZnO has been used as the buffer layer in As‐doped CdSeTe/CdTe solar cells to achieve efficiencies higher than 20%. STEM images and EDX mapping show that the quality of the front interface is dependent on the ZnO deposition temperature. Unusually, chlorine is not observed at the front interface using EDX when the ZnO is deposited at 100

Polymer Dots Exhibiting Multi‐Resonant Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence for Cellular Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
By copolymerizing with a host material, a multiple resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescent (MR‐TADF) emitter quinolino[3,2,1‐de]acridine‐5,9‐dione (QAO) is successfully assembled into water‐dispersible polymer dots (Pdots). Photophysical measurements and multichannel fluorescence imaging studies show that the narrowband emission from the MR ...

Efficient Synthesis of Amino Lactones via Copper‐catalysed Alkene Aminooxygenation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract The synthesis of 5–7 membered oxygenated heterocycles by intramolecular aminooxygenation of unsaturated alkenes using commercially available N‐fluorobenzenesulfonimide as amination reagent and TpiPr2Cu(NCCH3) as precatalyst is reported. With unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids, the corresponding lactones are obtained from moderate to almost

Development of Photo‐Biocatalytic Redox System for Asymmetric Synthesis of Optically Active Amines Using Blue Light and Transaminases. A Case Study Toward Mavacamten

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract α‐Chiral amines are versatile building blocks for the asymmetric synthesis of optically pure high‐added‐value chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and natural products. Herein, we report a one‐pot, two‐step sequential deracemization of racemic sec‐alcohols to optically enriched primary amines throught a photo‐biocatalytic ...
