Clinical Outcome of Non‐Surgical Endodontic Treatment Performed by Undergraduate Dental Students: A Retrospective Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the outcome of pulpectomy, root canal treatment (RCT) and orthograde retreatment in permanent teeth performed by undergraduate dental students and to assess the influence of various variables. Methodology Electronic dental health records at the Department of Odontology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark were analysed covering ...

Outcome of Calcium Silicate Sealer‐Based Obturation in Root Canal Retreatment: A CBCT‐Based Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Calcium silicate sealers (CSS) have become the dominant approach to root canal obturation in many specialist practices, yet evidence on their performance in nonsurgical retreatment is sparse and CBCT‐based assessment remains uncommon.

From biology to biotechnology: Host‐regulation factors from parasitoid wasps are a source of bioactive molecules with translational potential

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Host‐regulation factors are promising sources of insecticidal, antimicrobial and bioinspired translational molecules.

The V6R/V4R Index: A Novel ECG Parameter for Identifying Idiopathic Ventricular Arrhythmias Originating From the Aortic Cusp

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
The V6R/V4R amplitude index is a novel and practical electrocardiographic parameter for identifying idiopathic ventricular arrhythmias originating from the aortic cusp. A cutoff >0.55 accurately distinguishes cusp from adjacent non‐cusp origins within the left ventricular outflow tract, facilitating targeted mapping and procedural planning.

Systemic Lipidomics Identifies Altered Ceramide–Phospholipid Balance Associated With Periodontitis Severity: A Cross‐Sectional Study With 12‐Year Follow‐Up

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate whether periodontitis stage and grade are associated with circulating active lipid mediators and whether baseline lipid species predict periodontitis progression. Materials and Methods The study included 473 Finnish participants from the Parogene cohort undergoing coronary angiography, with 12‐year follow‐up data available ...

Diagnostic performance of SD‐ΔRR during physical stressors for identifying diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Study population, methodology and key findings of the study. ABSTRACT Aims This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of SD‐ΔRR as a novel methodology for short‐duration heart rate variability (HRV) assessment for the diagnosis of diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSPN) in patients with diabetes.

Association of glycation gap with hypoglycemia CGM indices, diabetic complications, and quality of life in Japanese type 2 diabetes patients

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
The difference between HbA1c and estimated A1c (eA1c) was defined as the GGap. The strong association of high GGap with CGM‐based hypoglycemic indices in type 2 diabetes is evident. The large GGap values, relying solely on HbA1c values during treatment, may increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients with T2DM.

International consensus on dose reduction of biologics for patients with psoriasis: The DR. Delphi study

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Dermatologists worldwide reached consensus on criteria for dose reduction (DR) of biologics for psoriasis resulting in a DR algorithm for adalimumab, etanercept and ustekinumab. DR of IL‐17 and IL‐23 inhibitors was deemed feasible as well. This first international consensus provides essential information for uptake of biologic DR for psoriasis globally.
