Families in venture capital

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 8, Page 2151-2176, August 2026.
Abstract Research Summary This exploratory paper introduces a new type of family business by studying the investment strategies of family‐managed venture capital funds (“Family VCs”) across a multi‐country setting. It shows that Family VCs are more likely to invest in (syndicate with) geographically proximate startups (investors), indicating a ...

Hidden Microbiota Inhabiting in Pollen Reserves of Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) From Amazonas Region Revealed by DNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 4, August 2026.
DNA metabarcoding of honey bee pollen reserves from Amazonas region reveals that microbial communities are strongly shaped by their ecosystem. Despite high taxonomic turnover across different habitats, these microbiomes maintain stable, essential functions for pollinator health, though they remain highly vulnerable to habitat homogenization.

Il ruolo della rabbia nel disturbo di panico: una lettura secondo la psicoterapia della Gestalt-fenomenologica

open access: yesPhenomena Journal
Attualmente il disturbo di panico è uno dei disturbi d’ansia più diffusi nei Paesi occidentali. Il più recente panorama scientifico descrive l’attacco di panico come un fenomeno principalmente connesso ad una paura intensa e incontrollata.

Biomimetic MCC950‐loaded cerium‐layered double hydroxide nanoparticles for targeted treatment of Type 1 diabetes in streptozotocin‐induced mice

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 16, Page 4919-4938, August 2026.
The CLMBM nanoparticle (NP) system demonstrates strong and targeted anti‐ROS, antiapoptotic and anti‐inflammatory properties within the pancreas, thereby inhibiting the onset and progression of type 1 diabetes. Background and Purpose The destruction of β‐cells in type 1 diabetes is driven by signalling cascades that ultimately lead to cell apoptosis ...

Circular stapler platform and the risk of anastomotic leakage after elective left colectomy and high anterior resection

open access: yesColorectal Disease, Volume 28, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Aim The impact of different circular stapler platforms on the risk of anastomotic leakage following elective left colectomy and high anterior resection remains poorly defined. We compared the risk of anastomotic leakage across commonly used circular stapler platforms using advanced confounding control methods. Methods This pre‐planned post hoc

Numerical Investigation of a Diffusive SIR Model: Focus on Positivity Preservation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 11, Page 11775-11793, 30 July 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider a system of semilinear partial differential equations (PDEs) representing a spatially extended SIR epidemic model. A brief analytical investigation of the well‐posedness and positivity of the solutions is provided in the appendix, while the main focus is on the numerical treatment of the model.

Inter‐platform ecosystems

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 7, Page 1840-1877, July 2026.
Abstract Research Summary We extend ecosystem theory to cases in which platforms are complementors to each other: inter‐platform ecosystems. Analyzing web traffic data on 241 European platforms, we identify and characterize demand‐side inter‐platform ecosystems, and propose a theory of why they emerge.

Impact of Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing on Echocardiographic Parameters and Symptoms: Data From the Conduction System Pacing Italian Network Group (C‐SING) Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 1432-1441, July 2026.
Left bundle branch area pacing is associated with preservation of ventricular function in patients with bradycardia indications and with significant reverse remodeling and symptomatic improvement in patients with heart failure. Maintaining a high percentage of effective LBBAP capture is critical to minimize the risk of pacing‐induced cardiomyopathy and

Capital in Motion: Synthesizing the Circulation and Reproduction in a Multi‐Sector Growth Model

open access: yesMetroeconomica, Volume 77, Issue 3, Page 274-288, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper analyzes Capital in Motion (CIM) in a capitalist economy, based on Karl Marx's Capital, Volume 2. It examines the circuit of capital, distinguishing between stock and flow variables, and integrates a multi‐sector growth model that combines the circuit and turnover of capital with the reproduction scheme.
