Abstract20 pigs weighing 21–124 kg were used to determine the clearance of PAH, N4‐acetylated PAH and PAHtotal, and for determination of acetylation of PAH and de‐acetylation of N4‐acetylated PAH in the kidney. By examining blood samples taken from a. renalis and v.

Quantitation of P-Aminohippuric Acid and N-Acetyl-P-Aminohippuric Acid from Blood by HPLC
Journal of Liquid Chromatography, 1981Abstract P-aminohippuric acid, N-acetyl-p-aminohippuric acid, and p-aminobenzoic acid can be separated by a reverse-phase, isocratic high-pressure liquid chromatographic procedure in less than 4 minutes. The eluent is 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 3.5, containing 30% methanol.

99Tcm-p-aminohippuric acid as a new renal agent
Nuclear Medicine Communications, 199999Tcm-p-aminohippuric acid (99Tcm-PAH) is a new renal radiopharmaceutical prepared from a lyophilized kit by the addition of sodium pertechnetate (Na99TcmO4). Each vial contains PAH, the calcium trisodium salt of diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (CaNa3DTPA) and stannous chloride (SnCl2.2H2O) in an inert atmosphere. It is a stable radiopharmaceutical

A sensitive and specific high-performance liquid chromatographic assay was developed for the simultaneous determination of p-aminohippuric acid (PAH), acetyl-p-aminohippuric acid (aPAH), and iothalamate in human plasma and urine. Plasma samples were prepared by protein precipitation with acetonitrile followed by evaporation, reconstitution in mobile ...

The metabolism of p-aminohippuric acid and p-acetylamino-hippuric acid
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1967Abstract p-Aminohippuric acid or p-acetylaminohippuric acid administered to patients orally instead of intravenously as a method to determine their kidney function was found to give erroneously low clearance values. It was found that these compounds lost the glycine moiety by hydrolysis in the alimentary tract and were converted in the tissues to ...

p-Aminohippuric acid accumulation in kidney slices in cloudy swelling

Clinical investigations of 99mTc–p-aminohippuric acid as a new renal agent
Nuclear Medicine Communications, 200999mTc-p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) is a new radiopharmaceutical rapidly secreted by the kidneys in a manner consistent with tubular secretion. A comparative study of renal scintigraphy and clearance with 99mTc-PAH, diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) and mercaptoacetyltriglycine (MAG,) was performed.99mTc-PAH was prepared from a lyophilized kit ...

Synthesis of p-aminohippuric acid analog and its labeling by technetium-99m
International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part A. Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1989A procedure is described for the synthesis of p-[(bisacarboxymethyl)aminomethyl carbamino] hippuric acid (PAHIDA). The compound was identified by i.r. and NMR spectroscopy. A lyophilized complex was prepared and labeled with 99mTc. The purity of the preparation is better than 98%. The stability of the 99mTc-PAHIDA complex is achieved 8 h after labeling.

Technetium-99m Labeled p-Aminohippuric Acid Analogues: Renal Function Agents
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1989A number of p-aminohippuric acid analogues were synthesized in order to develop clinically useful 99mTc-labeled radiopharmaceuticals for evaluation of renal function measurements. Stable 99mTc-labeled complexes were formed at pH 5.7 using a Sn(II) reduction method with all derivatives.
