Designing Hub-and-Spoke School Bus Transportation Network: A Case Study of Wonkwang University

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb), 2012
This paper provides a case study of hub-and-spoke school bus transportation network design. The case study here utilizes a mathematical model that is the P-median optimization model to determine optimal hub locations.

Research on Hub-and-Spoke Transportation Network of China Railway Express

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2021
China Railway Express is developing rapidly, but the point-to-point direct organization mode has brought many problems to it. Therefore, this paper proposes to construct a hub-and-spoke network and adopt the “collecting and transportation” organization ...

Assessing boundary condition and parametric uncertainty in numerical-weather-prediction-modeled, long-term offshore wind speed through machine learning and analog ensemble [PDF]

open access: yesWind Energy Science, 2021
To accurately plan and manage wind power plants, not only does the time-varying wind resource at the site of interest need to be assessed but also the uncertainty connected to this estimate.

HELQ and EGR3 expression correlate with IGHV mutation status and prognosis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2021
Background IGHV mutation status is a crucial prognostic biomarker for CLL. In the present study, we investigated the transcriptomic signatures associating with IGHV mutation status and CLL prognosis.

An Approximation Algorithm for the p-Hub Median Problem

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, 2017
Abstract In the p-hub median problem we are given a set of clients V, a set of demands D ⊆ V × V , a cost function ρ : V × V → R + , and an integer p > 0 . The objective is to select terminals T ⊆ V , where | T | ≤ p , and assign each demand to a terminal, in order to minimize the total cost between ...

Impact of universal health insurance on total ischemia time and door-to-balloon time in STEMI: A single-center study from a geographical adverse region

open access: yesIndian Journal of Community Medicine, 2022
Introduction: We studied the impact of a Universal Health Insurance (UHI) Scheme introduced in India on total ischemia time (an important determinant of ST-elevation myocardial infarction [STEMI] outcome).

IFI27 may predict and evaluate the severity of respiratory syncytial virus infection in preterm infants

open access: yesHereditas, 2021
Background Preterm infants are a special population that vulnerable to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection and the lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) caused by RSV could be severe and even life-threating.

Solving the Uncapacitated Single Allocation p-Hub Median Problem on GPU [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A parallel genetic algorithm (GA) implemented on GPU clusters is proposed to solve the Uncapacitated Single Allocation p-Hub Median problem. The GA uses binary and integer encoding and genetic operators adapted to this problem. Our GA is improved by generated initial solution with hubs located at middle nodes.

A GPU-Based Genetic Algorithm for the Multiple Allocation P-Hub Median Problem

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science, 2023
