Thirty years of glyphosate‐resistant crops and weeds: Current situation and future prospects

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Since 1996, when the first glyphosate‐resistant crop was commercialized and the first resistant weed was reported, resistance has expanded globally. This review analyzes emergence patterns across weed species, crops, regions, resistance mechanisms, and herbicides.

Single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas assays for point‐of‐need detection of Stewart's wilt pathogen (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) of corn and Maize dwarf mosaic virus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1988-1999, April 2025.
Schematic diagram of the single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas12a/13a diagnostic assays for the detection of Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii and Maize dwarf mosaic virus. The validated assays provide a useful and sensitive molecular tool for detecting two quarantine pathogens of maize within a minimal resource framework suitable for fast‐tracking the ...

Comparison of early surgical outcomes of robotic and laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection reported by a busy district general hospital in England

open access: yesScientific Reports
Robotic platforms provide a stable tool with high-definition views and improved ergonomics compared to laparoscopic approaches. The aim of this retrospective study was to compare the intra- and short-term postoperative results of oncological resections ...

Evaluating land–sea linkages using land cover change and coral reef monitoring data: A case study from northeastern Puerto Rico

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Land cover change that leads to increased nutrient and sediment runoff is an important driver of change in coral reef ecosystems. In this study, we combined satellite remote sensing and field monitoring to assess concomitant changes in watershed land cover and coral cover in northeastern Puerto Rico in 2000–2015.

Urban Heat and Spatial Statistics, Toward Sustainable Cities and Society: A PRISMA‐Based Systematic Review and Empirical Assessment (2020–2025)

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, the intensification of global warming has brought increased attention to urban thermal dynamics, particularly regarding Land Surface Temperature (LST) and the Urban Surface Heat Island (SUHI) effect. This study conducts a systematic literature review alongside a bibliometric analysis of 123 peer‐reviewed articles ...

BIEN: A biodiversity informatics ecosystem advancing open and reproducible workflows for plant observation, plot and trait data

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract The rapid expansion of biodiversity data presents new opportunities to understand and forecast biosphere dynamics. However, disparate and dispersed data, taxonomic and geographic inconsistencies, pervasive quality issues, and a lack of reproducable workflows hinder synthesis, introduce biases and limit accurate assessment of biodiversity ...

Evaluating the efficacy of tagging adhesives for insect tracking

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
Two‐part epoxy resin delivered the strongest RFID tag adhesion on carabid beetles, exceeding polyvinyl acetate, cosmetic latex and cyanoacrylate adhesives. Adhesive performance was consistent across Harpalus, Leistus and Poecilus; species effects were non‐significant, supporting a broadly applicable protocol for carabid RFID tagging studies.

How Does the NSFR Regulatory Constraint Affect Profitability and Lending? Evidence From EU Banks

open access: yesEuropean Financial Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the relationship between long‐term liquidity regulatory constraints, profitability, and lending activities in the EU banking sector. In particular, we examine how Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) liquidity requirements impact the profitability and the core banking activities of 187 banks. Our findings reveal that higher NSFR

Does Deposit Insurance Promote Deposit Stability? Evidence from the Postal Savings System during the 1920s

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract We evaluate whether deposit insurance (DI) promotes liquidity by influencing depositor behavior. We use the postal savings (PS) system and state‐adopted DI schemes during the 1920s to examine the effect of bank suspensions on PS deposit growth in pairs of border cities (DI versus non‐DI).

Comparative Analysis of Oral Hypofunction in Community‐Dwelling Adults in Japan and Clinic‐Recruited Community‐Dwelling Adults in Switzerland: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Oral hypofunction (OHF) was assessed using standardised diagnostic criteria in Japan and Switzerland. Both populations showed age‐related decline, with higher prevalence and progression in Switzerland, underscoring the cross‐cultural validity of OHF criteria and the importance of tailored prevention.
