Synthesis of CeO2 hollow microspheres with oxidase-like activity and their application in the catalytic degradation of p-nitrophenol

open access: yes, 2019
CeO2 materials have received wide attention given their oxidase-like activity without the need for an unstable oxide substrate in the catalytic process.

Dual‐Substrate Synergistic Photocatalysis: Exogenous Reagent‐Free Co‐Removal of Phenol and Cr(VI) via Electron‐Donor‐Mediated Redox Coupling over Modified Carbon Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An exogenous reagent‐free dual‐substrate strategy harnesses phenol as an intrinsic electron donor to drive synchronous phenol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction over modified carbon nitride. π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding direct electron transfer to the catalyst, enriching photogenerated electrons and accelerating Cr(VI) reduction 6.4‐fold. This waste‐

Hydrothermal Synthesis of Modified Hydrophobic Zn–Al-Layered Double Hydroxides Using Structure-Directing Agents and Their Enhanced Adsorption Capacity for -Nitrophenol

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2014
Hollow microspheres of hierarchical ZnAl-layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method using hexamethylenetetramine as precipitating agent, sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (SDBS) as surfactant and sodium tartrate ...

Changes in the surfaces of adsorbed p-nitrophenol on methyltrioctadecylammonium bromide organoclay\ud -an XRD, TG and infrared spectroscopic study

open access: yes, 2007
Water purification is of extreme importance worldwide. P-nitrophenol was used as a test chemical to design and test an organoclay for the removal of p-nitrophenol from an aqueous solution.

Biocarbon Derived from Opuntia ficus indica for p-Nitrophenol Retention

open access: yes, 2020
Activated carbon obtained from Opuntia ficus indica by sodium hydroxide activation was employed for the adsorption of p-nitrophenol from water. The activated carbons obtained were characterized by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy, sorption of ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Simultaneous determination of o- and p-nitrophenol by first derivative spectrophotometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A simple method by first derivative spectrophotometry is proposed for the simultaneous determination of o-nitrophenol and p-nitrophenol. The analytes were separated from samples by liquid-liquid extraction (pH = 7.4) as tetrabutylammonium ion pairs into ...

One‐Step Preparation of Lanthanide‐Doped Polyurea Multicolor Microspheres for Versatile Fluorescent Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lanthanide‐doped polyurea microspheres are prepared via a facile one‐step precipitation polymerization. They exhibit strong hydrogen‐bonding and coordination interactions with excellent properties, including multicolor emission, high quantum yield (75.3%), remarkable stability, redispersibility, and biocompatibility.

One-Pot Synthesis of W-TiO2/SiO2 Catalysts for the Photodegradation of p-Nitrophenol

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2019
Double modifications of TiO2 by doping with WO3 and by dispersing on a SiO2 support were made by the one-pot sol-gel method. Doping with W shifts the TiO2 band gap energy from 3.2 eV to around 3.06 eV.
