High intensity interval and moderate continuous cycle training in a physical education programme improves health-related fitness in young females

open access: yesBiology of Sport, 2016
The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of eight weeks of regular physical education classes supplemented with high intensity interval cycle exercise (HIIE) or continuous cycle exercises of moderate intensity (CME).

Nilpotency of p-complements and p-regular conjugacy class sizes

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2007
This is one in a series of papers where the authors consider what information can be gained about a group if we are told information about the sizes of \(p\)-regular classes of a finite \(p\)-soluble group for some prime \(p\). The reviewer [\textit{A. R. Camina}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser.

Classroom-Based Micro-Sessions of Functional High-Intensity Circuit Training Enhances Functional Strength but Not Cardiorespiratory Fitness in School Children—A Feasibility Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2019
The present study assessed the short-term effect of 6 min classroom-based micro-sessions of multi-joint functional high-intensity circuit training (FunctionalHIIT) performed by students during regular classes on parameters related to functional strength ...

FINITE GROUPS WITH TWO p-REGULAR CONJUGACY CLASS LENGTHS II [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2009
AbstractLet G be a finite group. We prove that if the set of p-regular conjugacy class sizes of G has exactly two elements, then G has Abelian p-complement or G=PQ×A, with P∈Sylp(G), Q∈Sylq(G) and A Abelian.

Characteristics of the Number of Conjugacy Classes and P-Regular Classes in Finite Symmetric Groups

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract In this work, the number of p – regular classes N prc (S n ) in symmetric group S n is always less than or equal to the number of conjugacy classes Nc

On the Diameter of a Graph Related to p-Regular Conjugacy Classes of Finite Groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2000
Fix a prime \(p\) and a finite group \(G\). Consider the conjugacy classes of \(G\) for elements of order prime to \(p\), call this set \(\text{Con}_p(G)\). Now mimic a well-known construction of a graph by choosing as vertices the primes which divide the sizes of the classes in \(\text{Con}_p(G)\).
