Multimodal Balance Training Supported by Rhythmical Auditory Stimuli in Parkinson’s Disease: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Parkinson’s Disease, 2020
Background: Balance impairment in Parkinson’s disease (PD) improves only partially with dopaminergic medication. Therefore, non-pharmacological interventions such as physiotherapy are important elements in clinical management.

Higher orbital integrals, Shalika germs, and the Hochschild homology of Hecke algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
We give a detailed calculation of the Hochschild and cyclic homology of the algebra 𝒞c∞(G) of locally constant, compactly supported functions on a reductive p-adic group G. We use these calculations to extend to arbitrary elements the definition

Meiotic self-pairing of the Psalidodon (Characiformes, Characidae) iso-B chromosome: A successful perpetuation mechanism

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2021
B chromosomes are non-essential additional genomic elements present in several animal and plant species. In fishes, species of the genus Psalidodon (Characiformes, Characidae) harbor great karyotype diversity, and multiple populations carry different ...

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

When spectra of lattices of $z$-ideals are Stone-Čech compactifications [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2017
Let $X$ be a completely regular Hausdorff space and, as usual, let $C(X)$ denote the ring of real-valued continuous functions on $X$. The lattice of $z$-ideals of $C(X)$ has been shown by Martínez and Zenk (2005) to be a frame.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

A Functional Calculus for Quotient Bounded Operators [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2006
If (X, P) is a sequentially locally convex space, then a quotient bounded operator T beloging to QP is regular (in the sense of Waelbroeck) if and only if it is a bounded element (in the sense of Allan) of algebra QP.

Improved Early Referral in Long‐Term Survivor Care With Institutional Standardized Practice Among Childhood Leukemia Survivors#

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2018, the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center Leukemia Program implemented a practice standard to support the transition from treatment to survivorship that includes shared, alternating care between leukemia and survivorship clinicians and a reminder to refer survivors to the long‐term survivor clinic (LTSC) 2 years after ...

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...
