Comparative cytogenetic maps of Passiflora alata and P. watsoniana (Passifloraceae) using BAC-FISH
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2020The genus Passiflora shows a large variation in chromosome numbers (2n = 12, 14, 18, 20, 22, 24, 36, 72) and in the distribution of ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sites. Most species of the subgenus Passiflora, however, have n = 9 and two pairs of 35S rDNA sites, such as species of economic importance Passiflora edulis and Passiflora alata.

Phytochemical analysis : PCA, 2004
A high-performance thin layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method was developed in order to determine quantitatively the flavonoids in leaves of Passiflora alata, P. edulis, P. caerulea and P. incarnata. The content of orientin and isoorientin was determined, and the results were compared with those obtained using a quantitative HPLC-UV method.

Antifungal and Cytotoxic 2-Acylcyclohexane-1,3-diones from Peperomia alata and P. trineura
Journal of Natural Products, 2014Bioactivity-guided fractionation of the separate CH2Cl2 extracts from the aerial parts of Peperomia alata and P. trineura yielded seven polyketides: alatanone A [3-hydroxy-2-(5'-phenylpent-4'E-enoyl)cyclohex-2-en-1-one, 1a] and alatanone B [3-hydroxy-2-(3'-phenyl-6'-methylenedioxypropanoyl)cyclohex-2-en-1-one, 2a] from P.

Drug interactions may cause a drug to be more or less effective (synergism or antagonism), or cause unexpected effects on the body. Risperidone is a second-generation atypical antipsychotic medication while Lophira alata is a plant used traditionally to treat psychotic disorders.
