Revaluation of Granadilla (<i>Passiflora ligularis</i>): Analysis of Phenolic Compounds and Their Antioxidant Activity. [PDF]
This study is aimed at evaluating the effect of solvents such as ethanol and methanol on the extraction of phenolic compounds with antioxidant capacity from granadilla (Passiflora ligularis). Extraction was assisted with ultrasound (40 kHz, 30°C). The sample‐to‐solvent ratio was 1:14, and extraction was performed separately for seeds and peels.

Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa Extract Prevents Muscle Atrophy and Insulin Resistance in High-Fat Diet-Induced Obese Rats via Regulating the Nrf2, NF-κB, and IRS-1/PI3K/AKT Signaling Pathways. [PDF]
High‐fat diets (HFDs) are a key contributor to obesity and promote oxidative stress and inflammation, which are associated with muscle atrophy and insulin resistance (IR). Passiflora edulis exhibits anti‐obesity, antioxidant, and anti‐inflammatory effects. The study aimed to investigate the potential benefit of P. edulis f.

Anthraquinones From Epicoccum sp., a Fungus Isolated From Gut of Dione juno That Feeds on Passifloras. [PDF]
An Epicoccum fungus was isolated from gut of larvae of the butterfly Dione juno juno that feeds intensively on leaves of Passifloras. This fungus produces hydroxyanthraquinones that moderately inhibits growth of some Bacillus that coexist with the fungus in the insect gut, suggesting that it is probably important for microbial embalance in gut flora ...
