Adipocyte‐specific NIK depletion enhances energy metabolism and glucose tolerance in mice
The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.Obesity is associated with reduced energy expenditure and increased hepatic lipid accumulation. This study reveals that loss of NIK in adipocytes stimulates FGF21‐driven expression of thermogenic genes, including UCP1, and mitochondrial uncoupled respiration.

Protein Science, 1997 AbstractStaphylococcus aureus nuclease (SNase) homologues, previously thought to be restricted to bacteria and archaea, are demonstrated by sequence analysis to be present also in eukary‐otes. The human cellular coactivator pi00 is shown to contain four repeats, each of which is a SNase homologue.
