Vector meson production and nucleon resonance analysis in a coupled-channel approach for energies m_N < sqrt(s) < 2 GeV I: pion-induced results and hadronic parameters

open access: yes, 2002
We present a nucleon resonance analysis by simultaneously considering all pion- and photon-induced experimental data on the final states gamma N, pi N, 2 pi N, eta N, K Lambda, K Sigma, and omega N for energies from the nucleon mass up to sqrt(s) = 2 GeV.

P13 Evening call [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Supportive & Palliative Care, 2013
IntroductionThe End of Life Care (EoLC) Strategy (2008) and Preferred Priorities of Care (2011) documents support enabling people to remain in their own homes.Prompted by the volume of calls into the in-patient unit, and workload of the district nurses in the early evening, the hospice piloted an extension to the Hospice@Home (H@H) working hours.AimTo ...

Magnetic Pinecone Biochar‐Activated Peroxymonosulfate for Efficient Sulfamethoxazole Degradation: Performance, Mechanism, and Toxicity Analysis

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study successfully prepared magnetic iron/cobalt codoped biochar catalyst (CFSBC) using a one‐step calcination method. The morphology and structure of the material were systematically characterized using SEM, XRD, FTIR, TEM, BET, Raman, VSM, and XPS techniques. The effects of key parameters such as catalyst dosage, peroxymonosulfate (PMS)

A search-based technique for testing from extended finite state machine model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Extended finite state machines (EFSMs), and languages such as state-charts that are similar to EFSMs, are widely used to model state-based systems. When testing from an EFSM M it is common to aim to produce a set of test sequences (input sequences) that ...

Perturbation Theory for BAO reconstructed fields: one-loop results in real-space matter density field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We compute the power spectrum at one-loop order in standard perturbation theory for the matter density field to which a standard Lagrangian Baryonic acoustic oscillation (BAO) reconstruction technique is applied.

Immunologic Profiling Suggests an Association Between Treg Cell Dysfunction and Pain in Knee Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Pain is the hallmark symptom of osteoarthritis (OA), and its biologic drivers remain poorly understood. Although the role of innate immunity in OA has been extensively studied, the involvement of adaptive immunity, in particular Treg cells, is not well understood.

Reproducibility (test-retest) of vestibular evoked myogenic potential

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2015
INTRODUCTION: There is still no consensus in the literature as to the best acoustic stimulus for capturing vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP). Low-frequency tone bursts are generally more effective than high-frequency, but recent studies still ...
