Influence of temperature change on fatigue properties of P91 steel
Materials Research Innovations, 2014In the present paper, low cycle fatigue behaviour of P91 steel is presented. For the isothermal conditions of the fatigue test, the properties of P91 steel were described with the Manson–Coffin–Basquin equation, while for the non-isothermal test, the fatigue life of the examined steel was estimated using the Palmgren–Miner (PM) linear hypothesis ...

Structural stability of dissimilar weld joints of steel P91
Science and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2001The present paper addresses the issue of carbon and nitrogen redistribution in weld joints between creep resistant chromium steels. The redistribution of carbon and nitrogen was measured using the wave dispersive X-ray method. The conditions of the long term diffusion annealing process were: temperature 575, 625, and 700°C; and time 10, 100, 1000, and

Modeling the Creep Damage of P91 Steel Using Peridynamics
Volume 9: Mechanics of Solids, Structures, and Fluids, 2019Abstract Creep is an important failure mechanism of metal components working at a high temperature. To ensure the structural integrity and safety of systems working at high temperature it is essential to predict failure due to creep. Classical continuum based damage models are used widely for modeling creep damage.

Crack Growth Anomalies in Base Steel P91 and in HAZ
Materials Science Forum, 2005The growth of cracks in base steel P91 of 9Cr-1Mo class and in intercritical layer of HAZ is measured under creep coditions. For long term tests, a material degradation was detected consisting in an increase of crack growth rate and in a decrease of crack initiation time.

Characterisation of dissimilar P91 and P92 steel welds joint
Materials at High Temperatures, 2018In the present study, dissimilar weld joint was prepared using the P91 and P92 steel plate of 8-mm thickness, using the multi-pass gas tungsten arc (GTA) welding with filler (weld 1) and autogenous...

Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Properties of P91 Steel
Advanced Materials Research, 2011The effect of improper heat treatment progress on the structure and properties of P91 steel was studied. Results showed that under aircooling conditions, although the normalization temperature is beyond conventional range, the hardness meets the requirements of ASME standard, and the microstructure appear a gradual transition from equiaxed ferrite with

Evolution of Microstructure during Welding Simulation of Boron Modified P91 Steel
Physics of Metals and Metallography, 2019Abstract: Formation of heat affected zone (HAZ) when welding is considered as weakest link across transition joint. Characterization of this zone is a key issue to reduce the effect of embrittlement; hence appropriate welding parameters were adopted. In the present study, HAZ simulation was done for boron modified P91 steel using Gleeble.

Composite Model of Internal Stress Field in the Steel P91
physica status solidi (a), 2001One of the refined versions of the composite model suggested by Sedlacek et al. is adopted in a modeling of the local stress field in the steel type P91. The microstructure of the steel is considered as a one-dimensional substructure in which the subgrain interiors represent soft regions and subboundaries discontinuously decorated by carbide particles ...
