Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Multiple solutions for a parametric Steklov problem involving the $p(x)$-Laplacian operator

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions for a Steklov problem involving $p(x)$-Laplacian operator in a bounded domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^N\ (N\geq2)$ with smooth boundary $\partial \Omega$.

A parametrization for the symbols of a Hankel type operator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Hankel operators and their symbols, as generalized by V. Pták and P. Vrbová, are considered. In this more general framework, a linear operator X from a Hilbert space H1 to a Hilbert space H2 is said to be a Hankel operator for given contractions T1 on H1

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Eigenvalues for a Neumann Boundary Problem Involving the p(x)-Laplacian

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2015
We study the existence of weak solutions to the following Neumann problem involving the p(x)-Laplacian operator:  -Δp(x)u+e(x)|u|p(x)-2u=λa(x)f(u), in  Ω, ∂u/∂ν=0, on  ∂Ω.

Variable exponent perturbation of a parabolic equation with $p(x)$-Laplacian

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2019
This paper is concerned with the study of the global existence and the decay of solutions of an evolution problem driven by an anisotropic operator and a nonlinear perturbation, both of them having a variable exponent. Because the nonlinear perturbation

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Steklov problems involving the p(x)-Laplacian

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
Under suitable assumptions on the potential of the nonlinearity, we study the existence and multiplicity of solutions for a Steklov problem involving the p(x)-Laplacian. Our approach is based on variational methods.
