Machinability of PA12 and short fibre–reinforced PA12 materials produced by fused filament fabrication

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2020
Fused filament fabrication (FFF) is an extrusion-based process that allows quick and inexpensive part production, practically without any geometric limitations, offering flexibility, promoting reduction in costs and lead-time in an industrial scenario.

A new macroinitiator for the synthesis of triblock copolymers PA12‐b‐PDMS‐b‐PA12

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2006
AbstractA new PDMS macroinitiator is proposed for the anionic ring‐opening polymerization of lactams. This α,ω‐dicarbamoyloxy caprolactam PDMS macroinitiator was readily obtained in quantitative yield, by an original synthesis scheme in two steps, which involved the scarcely reported reaction of isocyanates with silanol groups.

Study of the annealing influence on the mechanical performance of PA12 and PA12 fibre reinforced FFF printed specimens

Rapid Prototyping Journal, 2020
Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the mechanical performance of FFF parts when subjected to post processing thermal treatment. Therefore, a study of the annealing treatment influence on the mechanical properties was performed.

Saturation ESR spectroscopy of PA12 polyamide

European Polymer Journal, 2004
Abstract This work presents the results of our EPR study of polyamide 12 (PA12) –[NH–(CH2)11–CO]n–NH–(CH2)11–CO–. In this study the spin probe method with “conventional” or “continuous saturation” at low temperatures (4–260 K) was used. The aim of our investigation was to determine if it possible to obtain the saturation effects and establish ...

Reaction injection pultrusion of PA12 composites: process and modelling

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2003
The development of a reactive pultrusion process is presented by considering the advantages of an in situ polymerisation of thermoplastic lauryllactam monomers. The specifics of the reaction injection unit, of the fibre-drying oven and of different pultrusion dies are given.
