Electrochemical Hofmann Rearrangement for Modular Synthesis of Unsymmetrical Ureas and Late‐Stage Modification of Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electrochemical Hofmann rearrangement of amide involving amine or other amide nucleophiles has been developed. The use of NaI guarantees the feasibility and compatibility of the electrosynthesis protocol, which enables highly chemoselective synthesis of unsymmetrical N‐acylureas from two different amides, as well as the production of unsymmetrical ...

Free Polyethylenimine Enhances Substrate-Mediated Gene Delivery on Titanium Substrates Modified With RGD-Functionalized Poly(acrylic acid) Brushes

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Substrate mediated gene delivery (SMD) is a method of immobilizing DNA complexes to a substrate via covalent attachment or nonspecific adsorption, which allows for increased transgene expression with less DNA compared to traditional bolus delivery.

Synthesis and Aggregation Behavior of Pluronic F87/Poly(acrylic acid) Block Copolymer with Doxorubicin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) was grafted onto both termini of Pluronic F87 (PEO₆₇-PPO₃₉-PEO₆₇) via atom transfer radical polymerization to produce a novel muco-adhesive block copolymer PAA₈₀-b-F₈₇-b-PAA₈₀.

Structurally Enhanced Colloidal Molecules via Carbene‐Mediated Covalent C─H Insertion Crosslinking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a nonspecific covalent crosslinking strategy to significantly enhance the structural stability of colloidal molecules (CMs) without compromising their inherent structural and physicochemical properties by rationally designing a diazo‐based crosslinker.

Autonomous and Continuous Atmospheric Water Harvesting Using Modified Wood

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid, hydroxyl‐rich wood skeleton with graded channels is used as a multifunctional host to co‐incorporate a PNipam/PAA network and LiCl, creating a high‐performance sorbent for atmospheric water harvesting. The composite achieves rapid sorption, efficient low‐temperature desorption, and stable cycling, enabling a solar‐powered device with a high ...
