Os autores relatam sua experiência com o hycanthone em 1.000 pacientes de esquistossomose mansônica, até agora tratados no Hospital de Clínicas da Universidade do Estado da Guanabara. São pacientes oriundos de áreas endêmicas do País, especialmente do nordeste e sudeste, 53,9% do sexo masculino e 46,1% do sexo feminino, de idade entre 5 e 63 anos.

This long‐term follow‐up study determined survival rates in a Swedish national cohort of 417 patients with breast cancer who all had neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NAST). All patients operated for oesophageal cancer in Sweden from 2013 to April 2018 were identified, and 246 patients were recruited to this population‐based nationwide Swedish study. The results show that longitudinal health‐related quality of life after minimally invasive oesophagectomy was similar to that of the open surgical approach.

European multicentre study on outcome of surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism
Some 5861 patients undergoing first‐time surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism were registered in the Eurocrine® database between 2015 and 2018. The use of intraoperative parathyroid hormone measurement decreased the risk of conversion and persistent hypercalcaemia.

This study investigated postoperative complications after surgery for medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in Europe. Hypoparathyroidism, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and bleeding requiring reoperation occurred in 170 (26·2 per cent), 62 (13·7 per cent) and 17 (2·6 per cent) patients respectively.
