Weighted delay prediction in mobile ad hoc network using fuzzy time series

open access: yesEgyptian Informatics Journal, 2014
Several parameters like routing protocol, mobility pattern, average speed of mobile nodes, path length from source to destination, previous delay, etc., affect the end-to-end packet delay in mobile ad hoc network.

5G Campus Networks: A First Measurement Study

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
A 5G campus network is a 5G network for the users affiliated with the campus organization, e.g., an industrial campus, covering a prescribed geographical area. A 5G campus network can operate as a so-called 5G non-standalone (NSA) network (which requires

Delayed-dictionary compression for packet networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings IEEE 24th Annual Joint Conference of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies., 2005
This paper considers compression in packet networks. Since data packets may be dropped or arrive reordered, streaming compression algorithms result in a considerable decoding latency. On the other hand, standard stateless packet compression algorithms that compress each packet independently, give a relatively poor compression ratio.

Delay reduction of transmission control protocol in WiMAX by prioritizing the acknowledgement packets

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) provides reliable connection by acknowledging every transmitted packet. The faster the acknowledgement (ACK) packet is received, the quicker the next TCP window is sent.

Analysis of Aggregation Delay for Multisource Sensor Data with On-Off Traffic Pattern in Wireless Body Area Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Data aggregation plays an important role to improve the transmission efficiency in wireless body area networks (WBANs); however, it inherently induces additional aggregation delay.

Efficiency of packet voice with deterministic delay

open access: yesIEEE Communications Magazine, 2000
Packet switching is appealing for carrying real-time traffic because it can benefit from (possibly variable bit rate) compression schemes and statistical multiplexing to more efficiently exploit network resources. This work explores the efficiency of IP telephony in terms of the volume of voice traffic carried with deterministically guaranteed quality ...
