We report here a scalable, multichassis, 6.3 terabit core router, which utilizes our proprietary optical switch. The router is commercially available and deployed in several customer sites. Our solution combines optical switching with electronic routing.

L7 packet switch: packet switch applying regular expression to packet payload
2014 IEEE International Workshop Technical Committee on Communications Quality and Reliability (CQR), 2014Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is widely studied in research community. Although OpenFlow switches are considered one of the promising SDN technologies, even the latest version of OpenFlow (1.3) only handles 40 tuples including Layer 2 to Layer 4 (L2–L4) headers.

We propose a switch, suitable for an integrated local communications network, that will support packet switching and circuit switching, with a wide range of bit rates. Key components are two serial memories; a multiplicity of access units, each capable of writing and reading uniformly formatted, addressed information; and a programmed controller ...

IEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 1995
Very broad band throughputs greater than 1T bit/sec are desired in heavily loaded communication systems. Using the merits of superconducting devices, a superconducting network system is expected to improve the throughputs of such communication bottleneck systems.

Packet switching with satellites
Proceedings of the June 4-8, 1973, national computer conference and exposition on - AFIPS '73, 1973The first computer-communication networks put into operation were designed around the communications provided by the existing worldwide telephone network. Lucky has given a convincing rationale for that decision.

This chapter provides an outline of the main concepts and issues related to optical packet switching (OPS). The basic network functions required by this paradigm are discussed and references to past and current research on the topic are provided. Optical packet switching is a transport technique that assumes information to be organized in packets ...

Packet Switched Networks [PDF]
The trend towards common user packet switched networks has increased the need for the provision of adequate end-to-end security techniques in order to protect the data of individual groups of network users. The techniques which can be employed in order to provide adequate end-to-end security measures are considered in this paper frc, mamilitary ...

Publisher Summary This chapter describes packet switching. Packet switching is a mature, secure method of transferring data across a network. It divides data into segments, each of which is wrapped in an envelope to form a packet; a typical message comprises one or more packets. Each packet contains the actual user data plus information helpful to its
