Packing measure as a gauge variation [PDF]
Meinershagen noted that (in the line) the fractal packing measure of Tricot and Taylor can be considered to be a Henstock-Thomson gauge variation ("method III") for an appropriate choice of derivation basis and set function. We show that this point of view remains interesting in a general metric space.

Monitoring Three-Dimensional Packings in Microgravity [PDF]
We present results from experiments with granular packings in three dimensions in microgravity as realized on parabolic flights. Two different techniques are employed to monitor the inside of the packings during compaction: (1) X-ray radiography is used ...

We develop a model to measure the degree of oligopsony power in the beef packing industry, while accommodating variable proportions technology, that can be estimated with fewer data requirements.

Hausdorff and packing dimension of fibers and graphs of prevalent continuous maps [PDF]
The notions of shyness and prevalence generalize the property of being zero and full Haar measure to arbitrary (not necessarily locally compact) Polish groups.

Mind the (synthesis) gap: examining where academic FPGA tools lag behind industry [PDF]
Firstly, we present VTR-to-Bitstream v2.0, the latest version of our open-source toolchain that takes Verilog input and produces a packed, placed— and now routed—solution that can be programmed onto the Xilinx commercial FPGA architecture.

The symmetric derivation basis measure and the packing measure [PDF]
The packing measure as defined by S. J. Taylor for continuous, monotone functions h h and the measure generated by the symmetric derivation basis measure using h h are shown here to be the same for subsets of the real line.

ObjectivePostoperative epistaxis is a very rare but severe complication after endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery (EETS) that can lead to catastrophic consequences. However, the incidence, risk factors, management and prevention of postoperative

Enumeration of distinct mechanically stable disk packings in small systems
We create mechanically stable (MS) packings of bidisperse disks using an algorithm in which we successively grow or shrink soft repulsive disks followed by energy minimization until the overlaps are vanishingly small.
