Paclobutrazol Inhibits Growth of Woody Landscape Plants [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Horticulture, 1990
Abstract Paclobutrazol, applied as a spray or drench, suppressed growth of 8 woody landscape species. Magnitude of growth inhibition was directly correlated with application rate, whereas both magnitude and duration of growth inhibition was influenced by application method.

Strategies for tomato seedlings production using paclobutrazol
Estratégias para produção de mudas de tomateiro utilizando paclobutrazol

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2013
The modern tomato production, either for fruit table production or for processing, has required quality seedlings, able to withstand environmental adversities after planting and maintaining the standard genotype productive. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of three concentrations of PBZ (0, 50 and 100 mg L-1) and two methods of ...

The optimization of crop response to climatic stress through modulation of plant stress response mechanisms. Opportunities for biostimulants and plant hormones to meet climate challenges.

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 130-151, January 2026.
Summary This review discusses the use of agronomic management practices to enhance crop stress resilience to climate stress through the modulation of natural plant growth regulatory pathways. The use of biostimulants or plant hormones to improve crop resilience is subject to strict regulatory oversight if changes in the regulation of plant growth are ...

Response of Plant Hormone bioassay to Paclobutrazol

open access: yesInternational Journal of Plant Science and Horticulture, 2019
Quantitative estimation of a known or suspected biologically active substance (such as a hormone or drug) by measuring its effect on a living organism in standard conditions is known as bioassay. The interaction of gibberellic acid (GA3) and paclobutrazol (PBZ) in lettuce hypocotyl bioassay and 6-benzyl aminopurine (BAP) and paclobutrazol in radish ...

MicroRNA156 and its targeted SPL genes interact with the photoperiod, vernalization, and gibberellin pathways to regulate wheat heading time

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 125, Issue 1, January 2026.
SUMMARY Heading time has a large impact on adaptation to different environments and crop productivity. In this study, we characterized the effect of the endogenous age pathway on heading time and its interactions with the photoperiod and vernalization pathways in the leaves of tetraploid wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum).

Effect of paclobutrazol on explant growth and tuberization in potato

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2004
The growth of potato explants was inhibited completely by the application of 0.1-1 mg/L paclobutrazol in the MS propagation medium. The growth of stems and leaves was inhibited, but leaf color was more green and root fresh weight and root length were ...

Dermal in vitro penetration of methiocarb, paclobutrazol, and pirimicarb [PDF]

open access: yesOccupational and Environmental Medicine, 2000
OBJECTIVESThe dominant route of occupational exposure to pesticides in horticulture is dermal. However, preventive measures are seldom used when handling plant cultures recently treated with pesticides, thus causing significant dermal exposure and potential absorption.

The LARGE1 controls grain size by repressing the interaction between PGL2 and APG in rice

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 125, Issue 2, January 2026.
SUMMARY Grain size has long been recognized as a key determinant of yield potential in crops. Understanding the mechanisms governing grain size is critical for breeding high‐yielding varieties. In a previous work, we revealed that the RNA‐binding protein LARGE1 acts as a negative regulator of grain size and weight in rice.

Effect of cultivar, cold and paclobutrazol on growth, chlorophyll content and cell membrane injury in Phaseolus vulgaris plantlet [PDF]

open access: yesZīst/shināsī-i Giyāhī-i Īrān, 2014
The paclobutrazol is one of plant growth regulators from triazoles group that is able to protect plants against environmental stress conditions. This experiment was carried out to investigate paclobutrazol (0, 25 and 50 mg/L) effects on reduction of ...
