Photometric Redshifts of Submillimeter Galaxies

open access: yes, 2012
We use the photometric redshift method of Chakrabarti & McKee (2008) to infer photometric redshifts of submillimeter galaxies with far-IR (FIR) $\it{Herschel}$ data obtained as part of the PACS Evolutionary Probe (PEP) program.

Unstable slow oscillations couple with epileptogenic fast‐rhythm bistability in sleep‐related epilepsy: A stereoelectroencephalographic study

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
We examined the functional relationship between large‐scale δ‐band phase synchrony and local epileptogenic β–γ‐band amplitude bistability during NREM sleep. Increased synchrony and strong bistability characterized the epileptogenic zone, with strongest effects during N2 sleep, when seizures most frequently occur.

Clinical use and radiological yield of magnetic resonance fingerprinting in epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) is a novel paradigm for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that efficiently generates multiparametric quantitative tissue property maps with a single acquisition. Its quantitative nature offers many advantages over conventional MRI.

Wilson and Domainwall Kernels on Oakforest-PACS

open access: yes, 2017
We report the performance of Wilson and Domainwall Kernels on a new Intel Xeon Phi Knights Landing based machine named Oakforest-PACS, which is co-hosted by University of Tokyo and Tsukuba University and is currently fastest in Japan.

Sorption of pharmaceutically active compounds to soils: a review

open access: yesEnvironmental Sciences Europe
Pharmaceutically active compounds (PACs) are ubiquitous contaminants that can pollute the environment. This study critically analyzes the sorption of PACs to soil materials based on 137 published papers encompassing 106 PACs and 212 soil materials.

Ranking of antiseizure medications in a panel of focal seizure models predicts their comparative efficacy in clinical add‐on trials in drug‐resistant focal epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Most antiseizure medications (ASMs) have been discovered by testing in animal models, which are generally thought to predict antiseizure activity in patients. However, it is not known whether any of these models (or a combination of models) can predict whether a novel ASM exhibits higher clinical efficacy in focal drug‐resistant ...

Exact scaling solution of the mode coupling equations for non-linear fluctuating hydrodynamics in one dimension

open access: yes, 2016
We obtain the exact solution of the one-loop mode-coupling equations for the dynamical structure function in the framework of non-linear fluctuating hydrodynamics in one space dimension for the strictly hyperbolic case where all characteristic velocities

Effects of pulmonary rehabilitation on ventilation dynamics measured during exertion in patients with post-acute COVID-19 syndrome: A cross-sectional observational study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
BackgroundPulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is recommended in people with post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS), although there is a lack of studies evaluating its benefits via the most commonly used primary endpoint: the six-minute walk test (6MWT).

Prediction of treatment response in infantile epileptic spasms syndrome using EEG phase–amplitude coupling

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Treatment selection for infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) is complex and multifaceted, and currently no electroencephalogram (EEG) biomarkers can guide this decision by predicting treatment response. We tested the predictive value of phase–amplitude coupling (PAC) as IESS patients are known to have elevated PAC.
