Paenibacillus oceani sp. nov., isolated from surface seawater

Paenibacillus oceanisediminis sp. nov. isolated from marine sediment
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2013A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic, endospore forming and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain L10T, was isolated from marine sediment collected from the South Korean coast. The organism grew optimally under conditions of 30 °C, 1 % (w/v) NaCl and pH 6.0. It was oxidase-negative and catalase-positive.

Paenibacillus pueri sp. nov., isolated from Pu'er tea
INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SYSTEMATIC AND EVOLUTIONARY MICROBIOLOGY, 2009Pu'er tea is a fermented drink made from the leaves of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Two novel bacteria, designated strains b09i-3(T) and b13i-1, were isolated during the process of fermentation of this tea. These isolates were Gram-positive, endospore-forming, motile rods that grew at 25-42 degrees C and pH 5.5-10.4.
