Paenibacillus oceani sp. nov., isolated from surface seawater

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2021
A Gram-stain-positive and motile bacterial strain, designated IB182363T, was isolated from surface seawater of the South China Sea. Cells grew at pH 5.0–9.5 (optimum, pH 7.0–8.0), 20–40 °C (optimum, 30 °C) and with 1–8 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2–4 %). On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain IB182363T was affiliated to the genus

Paenibacillus tianjinensis sp. nov., isolated from corridor air

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2021
A Gram-stain-positive, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, endospore-forming and rod-shaped bacterium, occurring singly or in pairs, designated TB2019T, was isolated from environmental monitoring samples of corridor air collected at the Tianjin Institute for Drug Control, Tianjin Province (PR China).

Paenibacillus oceanisediminis sp. nov. isolated from marine sediment

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2013
A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic, endospore forming and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain L10T, was isolated from marine sediment collected from the South Korean coast. The organism grew optimally under conditions of 30 °C, 1 % (w/v) NaCl and pH 6.0. It was oxidase-negative and catalase-positive.

Paenibacillus pueri sp. nov., isolated from Pu'er tea

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SYSTEMATIC AND EVOLUTIONARY MICROBIOLOGY, 2009
Pu'er tea is a fermented drink made from the leaves of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Two novel bacteria, designated strains b09i-3(T) and b13i-1, were isolated during the process of fermentation of this tea. These isolates were Gram-positive, endospore-forming, motile rods that grew at 25-42 degrees C and pH 5.5-10.4.

Paenibacillus pinistramenti sp. nov., isolated from pine litter

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2019
A Gram-stain-positive bacterium, designated strain ASL46T, was isolated from litter layer of a pine forest located in Anmyondo, Korea. Strain ASL46T was found to be an aerobic, motile, endospore-forming rod which can grow at 20-45 °C (optimum, 37 °C), at pH 6.0-11.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and at salinities of 0-2% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1% NaCl). Phylogenetic
