Paenibacillus piri sp. nov., isolated from urban soil

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2020
A rod-shaped, Gram-stain-positive bacterial strain, MS74T, was isolated from soil beside Itaewon road, Seoul, Republic of Korea. The strain could grow well on R2A, nutrient agar and tryptone soya agar, but not in LB agar. MS74T tolerated 3.0 % NaCl (w/v), pH 9.0 and a temperature range from 10 to 35 °C (optimal temperature, 28 °C).

The Factors Involved in Plant–Insect–Microbe Interactions Expanded: Genome Analysis and Description of Frigoribacterium adelgis sp. nov.

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 1, February 2026.
Aerobic Actinobacteria belonging to the genus Frigoribacterium were isolated from adelgid Adelges (Aphrastasia) pectinatae collected from a Korean fir tree. Genomic analysis showed that these bacteria encode a range of factors that may be involved in the interactions between Frigoribacterium strains, adelgids and/or Korean fir trees.

Spoilage potential of Paenibacillussp. in Brazilian raw milk

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2016
: Bacterial spores are widespread in the environment and can contaminate milk. Spores are resistant to thermal conditions and your germination reduces milk shelf-life because the aerobic bacteria that are sporulated produce proteases and lipases. The aim

Delignification and enhanced gas release from soil containing Lignocellulose by treatment with bacterial lignin degraders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aims The aim of the study was to isolate bacterial lignin-degrading bacteria from municipal solid waste soil, and to investigate whether they could be used to delignify lignocellulose-containing soil, and enhance methane release. Methods and Results

Synergistic Effect of Organic Waste Products and Microbial Inocula on Iron and Zinc Biofortification in Cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.]

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Agro‐biofortification using micronutrient‐rich organic waste products combined with local beneficial microorganisms and mycorrhizal fungi substantially enhanced iron and zinc concentrations in cowpea. Across contrasting seasons, this integrated approach increased Fe by up to 48% in grains and 259% in haulms, and Zn by up to 28% in grains and 265% in ...

Carboxymethyl cellulase production from a Paenibacillus sp. [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2016
Cellulases are industrially important enzymes with a potential to convert cellulose into fermentable sugars. Novel bacterial isolate Paenibacillus sp. CKS1 was tested for cellulase activity and the optimal conditions for carboxymethyl cellulase (

Plant growth‐promoting activity of endophytic bacteria from sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2021
Application of high levels of chemical fertilizers for optimal growth of sweet sorghum causes environmental degradation. Plant growth‐promoting bacteria have biotechnological importance because they can improve the growth and health of important ...

Distribution and transmission of American foulbrood in honey bees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The distribution of Paenibacillus larvae spores, the causative agent of American foulbrood, was studied on three different levels in the honey bee system; the apiary level, the colony level and the individual honey bee level.

Defining the functional traits that drive bacterial decomposer community productivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Microbial communities are essential to a wide range of ecologically and industrially important processes. To control or predict how these communities function, we require a better understanding of the factors which influence microbial community ...
