Phylogenetic analyses based on both ITS rDNA sequences and the morphological characters of the anamorph and teleomorph stages determined the powdery mildew to be Erysiphe paeoniae. Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1952A crude, dealcoholized alcoholic extract of peony root was screened for pharmacological activities. It was found to produce digitalis-like action on the frog's heart, stimulation of the uterus of the rat, and depression of the intestine of the rat and rabbit. Minor lowering of the blood pressure was produced in the rat.
