Phytochemicals and anti-tyrosinase activities of Paeonia ostii leaves and roots

Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2022
Tree peony (sect. Moutan) is a kind of Traditional Chinese Medicine and ornamental plant, which has been widely cultivated and utilized for thousands of years. To further study the active components of Paeonia ostii (Moutan, Fengdan), six fractions (soluble free (F), soluble esterification, soluble glycosylation, insoluble bound, insoluble ...

Analysis and Functional Verification of PoWRI1 Gene Associated with Oil Accumulation Process in Paeonia ostii [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2021
The plant transcription factor WRINKLED1 (WRI1), a member of AP2/EREBP, is involved in the regulation of glycolysis and the expression of genes related to the de novo synthesis of fatty acids in plastids. In this study, the key regulator of seed oil synthesis and accumulation transcription factor gene PoWRI1 was identified and cloned, having a complete

Aromatic monoterpenoid glycosides from the seeds of Paeonia ostii

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2017
Phytochemical investigation into the seeds of Paeonia ostii T. Hong et J. X. Zhang (Paeoniaceae) led to the identification of three new aromatic monoterpenoid glycosides, named paeostisides A-C (1-3), along with one known compound. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic analysis and chemical method.

Amelioration of Salt-Induced Damage on Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan’ by Exogenous Application of Silicon

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
To investigate the amelioration of salt-induced damage on Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan’ by exogenous silicon, we analyzed the photosynthetic and physiological characteristics of 1.5-year-old ‘Fengdan’ seedlings under NaCl stress by applying exogenous silicon (0, 0.75, and 1.5 mmol/L).

Callus induction and browning suppression in tree peony Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan’

Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology, 2020
Callus induction is an important stage in micropropagation. In this study, embryos, cotyledons, and hypocotyls of tree peony (Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan’) were used as explants to induce callus formation. Callus induction was largely influenced by the medium, plant growth regulator, and explant.

Enhanced adsorption of copper ions by phosphoric acid-modified Paeonia ostii seed coats

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2020
Novel adsorbent, phosphoric acid-modified Paeonia ostii seed coats (PA-PSC) were successfully prepared by low-temperature pyrolysis to effectively remove Cu(II) from aqueous solution. The results revealed that equilibrium adsorption capacity (qe) of PA-PSC for Cu(II) was notably enhanced up to 4-folds compared with the raw PSC.

PoARRO-1 regulates adventitious rooting through interaction with PoIAA27b in Paeonia ostii

Plant Science
Adventitious root (AR) formation is a limiting factor in the vegetative propagation of tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa Andr.). PoARRO-1, which encodes an auxin oxidase involved in AR formation, plays a role in the root development of P. ostii, but its associated molecular regulatory mechanisms are not yet understood.

Effect of Trichokonins on the Growth Characteristics of Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan’ Seedling Roots

Journal of Environmental Science International, 2016
The growth characteristics of Paeonia ostii ``Fengdan`` seedlings roots in response to trichokonins-spray treatment were investigated in this study. One-year-old seedlings of P. ostii ``Fengdan`` were potted in plastic cups containing garden mold and grown under field conditions.

Aspergilates A to E, second metabolites from Aspergillus sp. isolated from Paeonia ostii

Fitoterapia, 2018
Five novel globoscinic acid derivatives, aspergilates A-E (1-5) have been isolated from endophytic fungus Aspergillus sp. derived from Paeonia ostii. The structures of aspergilates A-E were determined by in-depth analyses of NMR spectra, HRESIMS and CD experiments.
