PERIANAL PAGET'S DISEASE

An early case of perianal Paget's disease is described in a 59 year old female. Literam search revealed 57 documented cases up to 1987. Diagnosis is suspected on clinical features and needs to be always conf'd by biopsy with routine stains, and, in doubtful cases, also by electron microscopy and immunohistology.

Perianal Paget's disease

Over the past 11 years (1974 to 1985) ten patients with perianal Paget's disease were treated. The average age was 64 years and half were male. Two patients were diagnosed as an incidental finding after hemorrhoidectomy and the remainder presented with a symptomatic perianal rash (itching and moisture) that averaged two years in duration.

The meticulous study of Bennett1has demonstrated that Paget's disease of the nipple is always associated with an adenocarcinoma in the underlying breast. No such comprehensive investigation has been done on extramammary Paget's disease.

AXILLARY PAGET'S DISEASE

ABSTRACTA case of axillary Paget's disease in a female was presented. Histopathological study revealed various types of apocrine poral duct tumors showing benignancy, premalignancy or malignancy, and Paget's cells in the epidermis as well as in the latter lesions. Relationship between Paget's cell and the malignant cell was discussed.
