A new hermit crab (Decapoda: Anomura: Paguroidea: Paguridae) from the eastern North Pacific
Zootaxa, 2009A new intertidal species of the hermit crab genus Pagurus, recently discovered on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, is described and illustrated. This species, Pagurus holmi n. sp., is compared and contrasted to other regional shallowwater species.

AbstractBased on a single right cheliped from the Cape de Naze Formation (middle–upper Maastrichtian), Senegal, a new genus and species of hermit crab with capsulated setae is described.Paracapsulapagurus poponguinensisn. gen. n. sp. is characterized by platy, scale-like, non-spinose tubercles with setae arranged in curved rows.

ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE SPERMATOPHORE LATERAL RIDGE IN HERMIT CRABS (DECAPODA, ANOMURA, PAGUROIDEA)
Crustaceana, 1999The pedunculate spermatophore is characteristic of the Anomura, and the Paguroidea in particular. It has a sperm-filled ampulla which is composed of two valves joined at a conspicuous lateral ridge. This lateral ridge is a thickening of the spermatophore wall but also a discontinuity between the wall morphology of each valve.

Zootaxa, 2004
The availability of 45 adult specimens from single population of the hermit crab Paguristes puniceus Henderson, 1896, together with ten specimens from other localities, has made it possible to investigate intraspecific variability in morphological characters heretofore considered diagnostic for species of the genus.

Invertebrate Reproduction & Development, 1999
Summary The spermatophore morphology is described and illustrated for 11 species of pagurid hermit crab. All possess a typical tripartite, pedunculate spermatophore characteristic of paguroid anomurans. In the majority of species an accessory ampulla is present at the base of the sperm-filled main ampulla of the spermatophore. This accessory ampulla is

A review of eastern Atlantic species of the family Parapaguridae (Decapoda, Anomura, Paguroidea)
Journal of Natural History, 1990Fifteen hermit crab species of Parapagurus Smith, 1879, Sympagurus Smith, 1883, or Strobopagurus Lemaitre, 1989, have been found to occur in the eastern Atlantic. Of these, eight are also found in the western Atlantic and have been sufficiently described previously. The remaining seven species are reviewed and for each, a complete synonymy, a diagnosis
